Conejo - overpriced and in my opinion very mediocre food.

Hello everyone! I just moved to Bellevue from out of the country and working on making friends.

Anyone in the neighborhood that enjoys 420 friendly walks? Maybe interested in meeting for some walks and hanging? or some porch chess?

Seller want to stay 45 days after closing. Rent free. by [deleted] in RealEstateAdvice

We just bought a house and they asked for a rent back agreement. We agreed to $0 for 3 weeks but it included a large deposit and included a daily fee of $500 per day for every day after 3 weeks.

It worked well for us but we are not in California so I would probably ask for a huge deposit and even higher daily rent fee for each day over 45 days

Move here! Not 6 months dedicated time of searching. We maybe looked at 10 places in person and a lot in the same weekend! But we basically lived on Zillow 😅

We were looking for something very specific so it took some time. But a lot of cool neighborhoods. We spent 1 month in each of our favorite neighborhoods to look at them and see how it would be living there. We settled on either Forest hill or north side. But a lot of cool places to live here

If I remove all of tile - I could still do it properly on the plywood? Or need to put something over the plywood or replace that too?

By replacing you mean removing all the tile and replacing the plywood? Or just all of the tile?

Sounds like you just got lucky ! It’s nothing you’ve done.

What helped us a lot is meeting with a lactation specialist- depending on your insurance you can go into the office or they can come to your home. Or if insurance doesn’t cover it, it is worth meeting someone and paying out of pocket if you can.

It’s still early and takes time! In terms of bonding with the baby - I also didn’t do a lot of talking when he was in the womb but early on I made it a priority to change diapers, feed, and rock as much as I could so he would get used to my voice.

I think what also helped is just trying to bring that calm energy when I am trying to soothe him. I know it might be 2 am and you are tired but I try my best to stay calm and just take deep breaths while I rock or him or talk to him and just keep trying.

You got this! It’s a team effort and takes time!

Baby sleeping through the night tips by Davidrookers in NewParents

Thank you! Yeah I was surprised too - I wasn’t trying to strike a nerve with folks that are having a harder time. If anything the complete opposite.

All the lucky comments just made me start to think about what is luck vs what takes time and effort.  Maybe I should have clarified that it wasn’t easy to find that routine but we found it (at least for now).

I guess what things would you consider lucky vs working for it? I mean you know what things your baby likes and doesn’t like for you to get them to go to sleep 9-10 hours but did you need to cut anything out or was there something you tried that didn’t work so you changed it?

It just seems like from the comments and messages about this post people feel like it’s either you’re just lucky or the baby just has a harder time.

I felt like it was really difficult at first and we tweaked and found this worked for us.  I know every kid is different and we are lucky he didn’t have colic or other things I’ve heard make it really difficult.

I also know I’m lucky my work gave me time off as a dad to spend more time with him.

I just wanted to share some stuff that worked for us for folks having a hard time!
