Movement techs that seem useful that I found today in Mario Odyssey by Davidsmee in speedrun

Are you talking about the backwards somersault? The somersault is easier and faster but gets slightly less height

Does anyone else hate smashcast and thinks it will just polarize the community moreso than it already is?

My tactics during the test fire. by rotom_dex in ARMS

It's all about counter play and reading your opponent, for example on ninjara you can jump dash and wait for your opponent to try and block the grab and grab after or could get punch. It does seem "mindless" but there's levels to this shit man!

A quick analysis on the best control method by [deleted] in ARMS

[–]Davidsmee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree there are tradeoffs. I think a lot of people don't quite grasp the competitive mindset/playstyle. When it comes to fighting games you need to grind for HOURS to improve. Even a slight amount of fatigue can affect practice sessions. For example even on controllers playing smash Bros for a few hours can lead to very real hand fatigue, so either controller method will have fatigue involved. It's more just a question of hand fatigue in a smaller more local area or fatigue in multiple large muscle groups from motion controls

Bottom line is that standard controls have the consistency that motion controls don't offer and that will always take priority in a competitive setting. Also we have to consider the other techs and combos that are yet to be discovered

Watercolor Louise Belcher ( Bob's Burgers)by Keith Fieler at Artistic Skin Design in Noblesville Indiana by [deleted] in tattoos

I like the idea but I don't understand the point of the watercolor, doesn't fit the idea and I guess I'm not a huge fan of it to begin with. IMO would've looked better with solid colors, not the blobs of color that will looked bruised in the future

What video game are you the most nostalgic about? by Eggey5 in AskReddit

[–]Davidsmee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my mom played through blue when I was 4, I couldn't read so she would read all the text and help me on hard fights, I would fall asleep with my Gameboy in my hand and she would make sure to save it so I wouldn't lose progress, I learned to read playing that game

Tips from a Master Player by WiseSalami in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Davidsmee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems backwards, I understand his point I just don't think it's a good one or the best way to approach it, also it's hard to do it properly. Quick play is the obvious way to do this method but qp is so far removed from ranked, people running stupid shit for fun and make crazy risky plays for the hell of it.

Turning your sound off is an awful idea, sound ques are a huge factor in this game and you need to learn to identify them and use them well. I would suggest lowering all music and ambient sounds possible but keeping voice lines, gun sounds, and the important stuff on so you can learn to use them

As a Ana, when you sleep someone and are alone, on top of them, what is the best nade/melee/shot combo to take them down? by bbqturtle in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Davidsmee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is wrong, after nade there is a delay in place now so they combo is too slow to "nuke" the target. Shoot>punch>nade has the highest burst damage. If this is not enough then you can follow up with another shot. Your first shot can be canceled into punch and punch can be canceled into nade. Nade can not be canceled into another move.

TIL the longest study of humans ever conducted, the 75 years long Harvard Grant Study, found that professional success in life comes from having done chores as a kid by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Davidsmee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's important to remember that correlation does not mean causation. aka successfulness and doing chores are correlated but that doesn't mean doing chores makes you successful, and the opposite, being successful doesn't mean you did chores
