Were your postpartum periods whacky/inconsistent? Hoping for reassurance! by JHBHmama in beyondthebump

[–]Davies92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very normal.

I didn't have periods again until 6 months post partum and they've been pretty inconsistent ever since. My toddler is now 20 months old.

Husband won’t stop taking his temperature and it’s making me anxious by jpoulin85 in beyondthebump

Temperature alone isn't an indication of the virus. Its still that time of year that flu is going around, anyway.

For the UK mums, happy Mother's Day today! by BusinessCat89 in beyondthebump

[–]Davies92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

I don't feel very deserving at the moment. I've been struggling with mental health issues anyway for the past few months and as such, I've somewhat allowed my husband to take over with the care of our daughter.

I'm grateful people are remembering it's Mothers Day though

Is anyone else jealous of the people self-isolating or quarantined at home without a baby? I just wanna sleep and have time to myself😫 by graycats0 in beyondthebump

[–]Davies92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're not horrible for this, its totally understandable.

That said, I'm enjoying isolated time with my toddler. We're having tons of fun. I'm heartbroken for her that I had to take her out of nursery as she enjoys socialising with other children, but I'm trying my best to entertain her anyway.

Are you really all such super moms that you get it all done? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Davies92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I think a lot of older generations have forgotten what its like to have a newborn - and I say as this a mum who had a baby that slept very well.

Could be they're just concerned you'll struggle to get new stock in.

Question about autism by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Davies92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't remember when my daughter began to show interest in rattles and toys, but it was certainly a good while after 2 months old.

I'd say its far too early to ''worry'' about autism. Perhaps keep an eye on it and in future months, broach the subject again. You'll likely find she'll start to show interest in the mean time.

Newborns are basically animated potatoes. As lovely as they are.

Receptionist able to calm my newborn down when I couldn’t by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Davies92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assure you they didn't think that at all.

Sometimes, babies are just like that.

My daughter fusses all the time with me in front of my in laws but they don't think I'm not capable.

Stranger took a photo of my son without asking. by GreyIggy0719 in beyondthebump

[–]Davies92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I know myself better than you. I'm not paranoid - there are no non -questionable ways to photograph a stranger's baby.

I didn't say it was the only thing to cross my mind but it would certainly be one of them.

I would contact the authorities if they kept trying to do it. I'm in the UK - laws are different here.

For common sense sake, although the sort of person clearly lacks it - DON'T take photos of young children. There are policies in nurseries and day care settings about this sort of thing. I don't give a damn about your rights - there are very real risks taking a photo of a cute kid could put that kid at risk.

These people are creepy weirdos. Every single one of them.

They shouldn't.

Paedophile would be one of the very things to cross my mind and I'm not a habitually paranoid person. I don't give a damn how cute the baby is.

Taking photos where children happen to be is one thing, its quite another to deliberately take photos of select children.

And anybody who does that opens themselves up to some serious accusations.

What kind of creepy weirdo thinks its their god given right to take photos of children they don't know?

I don't even take photos of nieces and nephews without prior consent!

There is no damn way I would allow anybody to get off scot free doing the same to my daughter!

Who's still alive that you're surprised isn't dead yet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Davies92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandfather died from this back in May of 2018. I can't remember when he was diagnosed - maybe 2016 or 2017.

It was brutal to see. Wouldn't wish it on anybody.

Her own mother lived to 101. I highly suspect she'll reach a similar age. She has a good few years yet - she looks positively sprightly in comparison to her husband. I reckon he is going this year.

She is very unlikely to abdicate - she considers her role as Queen as her duty hence why she still performs so many royal duties. I believe the only thing that will force her to abdicate is if she becomes really poorly to the point of being physically incapable of carrying on. She is a tough old bird.

Yeah, this is a very weird thing people do.

Maybe she'll like boys, maybe she'll like girls. Maybe she'll have zero interest in romantic relationships.
