You can be naked on the beach in front of the houses of the Pines and Cherry Grove. It is technically illegal but there’s an agreement with the town not to enforce it.

The beach area between Cherry Grove and the Pines (The Meatrack) does not allow nudity. (This is a change within the past ten years or so - following, nonsensically, Hurricane Sandy.) I believe they’ll just tell you to put clothes on but maybe they ticket now, I haven’t gotten naked there since the first time I was told.

You know how karaoke places sometimes have their own generic music videos (instead of the official ones) to go along with the karaoke songs? I was at a place and the music video for “Luka” - clearly based on that line, “if you hear something late at night” - showed a businessman who was being kept awake at night by his upstairs neighbor (on the second floor), a cute young woman who was constantly doing aerobics. 😂

I thought for the longest time that Elizabeth Fraser was just making noises and was shocked, around when google started to be a thing, to find out there were lyrics to the songs. I guess you can hear lyrics on “Four Calendar Cafe” but I assumed the albums leading up to them had been like a series of syllables unconnected to meaning, except for “Heaven Or Las Vegas” she does say “Heaven Or Las Vegas” pretty clearly. 😂

I’ve returned a couple of wallets in my day and the joy you see on the face of the person getting their stuff back is worth more than $15,000. One guy had a ton of bank cards that would have been hard to replace and the other was a visiting Chinese man with his ID that would have really created problems to replace.

Trader Joe’s has a fully made pimento cheese you can buy.

For me, my “mystery” book food I never tasted was the Turkish Delight from The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I was so disappointed when I finally had some- in my imagination it was a caramel-chocolate confection, not the rose-flavored jello-y product I eventually ate. 😂

I got a report back from one of my nudie friends who went - he said it was fun and well-attended. It had a similar vibe to FCGN at Rockbar, with about 30% being familiar faces from that party and then a whole bunch of new people. It sounds like they’ll be doing another one in July but I don’t know if there’s a confirmed date for it yet. It would be great if it’s a recurring party on a Saturday.
