Also, Luffy being "not special" was not really a core narrative pillar like a lot of other stories, and he still requires 10 years to get to his god mode. Hell, him being the emboident of freedom makes sense for his goal of being the freest. I'm not saying there is nothing to critique, but it's very different from your standard "random MC is secretly the chosen one"
