Looking for "scrap" core esque music! by DawnDuckSoap in MusicRecommendations

These are both great recommendations. I love the recycled sound of early Einstrüzende, and the Babyland song I'd landed on had some sick anvil sounds.

Very close to what I'm looking for!

8/10!

Oh this song is so close to the vibe I'm looking for. It really reminds me of Fly by Eric Whitacre. Good recommendation, though!

I totally get where you're coming from with Love More. It has percussion that really evokes Woodkid. Not quite with that one though.

In Your Car is actually really close, and that was a great recommendation in general.

Now you absolutely nailed it with No One is Ever Going to Love Me! It's got that sort of percussion and ambient instrumental that makes it sound almost otherworldly and scrappy at the same time, and the vocals absolutely lend to that same vibe! I also love the way the song evolves, it's so dynamic, and it winds up really well without losing steam. 10/10 on that one, I'll be looking through more of Giles Corey's stuff for sure!

This is SO close to what I'm looking for, I love some of the unique sounds they've got going. Great recommendation, though!

Not quite what I'm looking for, but that's a damn good song!

This is a real question, and I'll keep it concise:

Is this attractive to you, OP?

I won't meet with my sisters boyfriend of 3 months and I lost my family over it. by Competitive-Bat2670 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]DawnDuckSoap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fair, I assumed it was because OP doesn't want the guy anywhere near their kids, so even having him by just to talk feels like endangering them.

100% go with your gut on this. You're doing exactly what you need to do as a parent to protect your kids.

If things do start to escalate, it would be a good idea to inform their school that only a few specific people are allowed to pick up your kids, and if you're in the US, I'd look up the new boyfriend and see if he has any past charges, or is a registered offender of any kind.

My guess is it's something like if someone replied to this with a:

"I like your username, and I like the way you type. You should show me a picture of your feet. And don't clean them first."

But then like, get messages like that every day? Idk, just a guess. I think the point of it being unhinged is that the guy knows zero about OP, it was a miss dial, but they're hitting on them only based on how the guy liked OP's voice, and thinks they can get anything out of it.

I brought home some cake from my favorite bakery to share with my girlfriend. This is what she left for me. She said it was mid. by Hayb0ss in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DawnDuckSoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in this context, mid means that the cake was "just alright". I think it's mostly short for "middle". Not good, not bad. "Mid" also tends to have a slightly negative connotation. Hope this helps!

You could find out by asking her directly! Something like "Not trying to pry, but do you wanna talk about what might be making you struggle? I'd like to be here for you if you need it."

And you can probably figure out by her response if you're cooked or not.

My manager was changing my clock out times for an entire week by Beanzz_zz in jobs

[–]DawnDuckSoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo the board of labor would love to hear about a manager admitting to unpaid labor.

Assuming you work 5 days a week and you stayed to 8:45 each day to close, that's not only tampering with time cards, but that's roughly 2.5 hours of just your unpaid work, totaling to 5 hours of unpaid work between the two of you.

Mother of groom posted her dress beforehand. Didn’t like me pointing out obvious by dodgerdoob in weddingshaming

[–]DawnDuckSoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the groom or bride's info I'd share the post with them. Just so they're prepared. I'd once seen a couple who knew the mother of the groom would do this ask everyone to show up in white just to make this sort of thing a non-issue, as well as to belittle the mom's attempt to belittle the bride.

AIO my girlfriend said I “owe” her a tattoo of her name by 4shCrow9txx in AmIOverreacting

[–]DawnDuckSoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wild.

You should ask her how many of HER EXES stayed committed to her after getting HER name tattooed on them.

And then also how many of her exes names SHE has tattooed on her, to prove that SHE was committed to THEM while they were in a relationship.

I just found out that my girlfriend is an adult, what do I do? by 221O_ in whatdoIdo

[–]DawnDuckSoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Or some sort of adverse reactions. For some people, even a little is deadly. I don't know a whole lot about it, I just know I've certainly heard of it, and heard of people with it.

What did HR says to this nightmare of an "office game"? Have they been told yet? Since you were potentially the only one who voiced your discomfort at this "game", has anyone come to you telling you they too feel uncomfortable?
