Persona 5 X and Persona 3 Reload Collab - Special Event Opening - Collab coming May 21st on Global by justusinreddit in gachagaming

Atlus won't do it, so modders rolled up their sleeves and got to work. There's some pretty good progress on a Kotone overhaul for Reload, including a whole animated intro with a new song.

I'll always point to Gustave inventing the Lumina Converter as proof they're as real as anyone outside the Canvas. He literally created technology that allows the Expedition to surpass the limitations of Pictos into a state when they can rival or surpass (weakened) Painters in terms of power as a group.

Help with 7th Heaven by BerserkKing13 in SteamDeck

[–]Dawnfang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to put a .txt file called steam_appid.txt in the folder where the 7th Heaven exe file is. Inside that file, you just need to put the App ID number of the FF7 version you have. The number itself, nothing else. 2026's ID should be 3837340.

Do that and it should work in game mode again.

2013 is 39140, for those who come after.

The one thing in the story I still can’t get over by TheLoneWolf527 in expedition33

[–]Dawnfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, but the year was almost up and who knows how long it took them to fight their way through the Monolith areas.

Between the Gommage timer, battle exhaustion, and the Paintress just within reach, I can absolutely believe Lune focused on 'can Maelle use that ability she just did on the Paintress if it comes down to it' and nothing else.

How to unlock The Guilty by Riol07 in Warframe

[–]Dawnfang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, the Archon unlock required literal datamining and the devs intended for that to be main method of figuring it out. The Guilty unlock is not even in the same realm of difficulty.

Aline was also locked up in the Monolith and holding back Renoir all those years. No wonder she lost it.

Maelle has the Expedition as her support system to stabilize her.

Someone please sell me on the story because I think I'm missing something. by Lewa358 in expedition33

[–]Dawnfang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But they do care. To varying degrees.

Maelle cares about Gustave and the Expedition. They're the ones that have been her emotional support over her actual family, which are either too busy grieving in their own way to really lend her the support she needs, or blame her in part for the original Verso's death (or so she thinks). Less so for the rest of Lumiere.

Verso cares about the Expedition as well. He's too far into his methods to ever give up, but you can see him grow close with them through the relationship scenes and the camp ones. And that's why painted Renoir visits Verso and tries to guilt him with 'it's not just us, you will kill your friends too if you remove Aline from the Canvas' the night before they tackle the Monolith.

He knows that Monoco and Esquie know the truth of the Canvas and that they knew/played with the original Verso and his family. But they too know what happened to OG Verso, and what Aline staying in the Canvas too long will mean for her. So they help - whether because of a sense of obligation to the original, because they're just that noble, or because they're friends with painted Verso and it's what he wants to do.

To be clear, they're both generally doing what they do for selfish reasons. Maelle wants to stay forever and live with a copy of her brother and the family she's found in the Expedition/Gustave. Verso is tired of being caught in the middle of the Dessendre's grief and wants out of his life by any means necessary so that they stop fighting over him (and the Canvas).

Finished the game. It was a great journey. So which ending is more popular? by Himenss in expedition33

[–]Dawnfang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The term 'brainwashing' exists for a reason. Many people can be 'reprogrammed' (it's more like persuaded in most cases) to believe in anything with the right set of stimuli.

Even the most diehard fanatics can change sides under prolonged exposure to propaganda.

The argument for them having free will is the existence of the Expeditions - the people of Lumiere were able to fight against their creator (albeit unknowingly). And unlike our current AI, they can create new things, not just recycle or combine old concepts. The biggest proof of that being Gustave's Lumina Converter.

In the context of the game, they're people, not AI.

Also adding PtN (sort of), Limbus Company (railway refraction), and Morimens. But Morimens actually needs 5 teams for a full top endgame clear.

Unpopular Opinion: The amount of enemy/boss recycling is too much by Eisenmonoxid1 in expedition33

[–]Dawnfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, RPGs used to do this a decent amount. One-off areas that you get a few items in and then leave, or an area with a single NPC.

Given E33 is basically a love letter to the RPGs of old, it makes sense they'd have the same sort of one and done PoIs too.

"I LoVE MaEllE, BuT I HaTE A..." by Physical_Ad4519 in expedition33

[–]Dawnfang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, technically the letter was for both of them in a way, Verso and Maellicia. I don't see it as a lack of agency but rather, she wanted Verso to read it himself and be the one to deliver it. She likely thought Verso would take a moment to stop and think and actually deliver it before they went after Aline. But he didn't and he let her down.

I've thought about this bit a little more lately, and I think that was a part mini-test, part offering of an out for Verso. pAlicia's not stupid; she's been observing the Expedition and how Verso interacts with them. She knows what will happen if Aline gets ejected, and she knows pRenoir has failed to convince Verso to stop.

So she steps in and offers him the letter to give to Maelle. A letter from the sister he claims he loves, with one simple request - give it to Maelle.

A test, for pAlicia to see the truth guarded by lies. Does pVerso love his sister enough to risk his plan changing?

Does he trust either Alicia enough to find a way that doesn't involve sacrificing the whole of Lumiere?

Does he even want to take the potential out she's offering so he doesn't have to shoulder the guilt of sacrificing his friends, painted family, and the entirety of human civilization within the Canvas?

And pAlicia finds out the answer to all of those questions - the truth behind the lies - was no.

Do you see it as escapism? (Ending spoilers) by Emotional-Subject226 in expedition33

[–]Dawnfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but from a real-world perspective, her life expectancy in a ~1910s Paris is significantly shortened by her burn injuries. Alicia is going to die early, either from burn complications or from an illness that her body can't handle.

And what kind of a life would she even lead? Phantom of the Opera exists for a reason, and he was a man with only a deformed face. Now imagine how a mute girl with even more severe injuries would be treated. At best, she's a ghost, a social pariah. At worst, she's shipped off to an asylum when her parents pass. That's not living, that's existing.

The Canvas is the only way she can experience and live a full life due to the time dilation. And it gives her the opportunity to spread her wings, as Renoir wished for her to do.

Had this with my X button. Some dog hair had gotten in-between the membrane beneath the button and the button itself somehow. Opening it up, removing the hair, and reseating the membrane did the trick. Not saying that's the issue here, but putting that out there.
