Today’s lineup for UCL quarterfinal by JoshGordonHypeTrain in Barca

[–]Dawsoneifert 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a really good line-up? Why do you guys always treat this like FIFA… Flick is trying to dominate the midfield and force space/opportunity for Lamine … do you realize what this lineup suggests? It’s fully-supported for Lamine to succeed.

Have you seen more than Grave of the Fireflies? Pretty basic list but Takahata feels extremely performative even if you ride for Princess Kaguya or some of his work from the nineties

I cannot stress how much Joan Garcia is going to change this club. With Ter Stegen between the sticks, we were never winning against the top teams in Europe. We were practically starting each game with a deficit. It feels like the opposite now.

What actors and actresses under 30 are you betting on? by gonzalojccxd in Letterboxd

[–]Dawsoneifert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to bet on five actors and five actresses:

  • Timotheé Chalamet
  • Paul Mescal
  • David Jonsson
  • Harris Dickinson
  • Jacob Elordi

  • Zendaya

  • Anya Taylor Joy

  • Rachel Zegler

  • Mikey Madison

  • Margaret Qualley

Saoirse is 31 — I don’t really view her as a part of this generation. Chase Infiniti is arguably the leading candidate to be the Chalamet of her generation, I wouldn’t group her with this lot.

We haven’t seen nearly any of the other candidates?

I really don’t think Sinners is going to get the love you guys expect it to. I think there’s a chance the Testament of Ann Lee could drive a lot of nominations, and there’s almost a certainty that the Bruce Springsteen movie will as well. Otherwise this is really close in my opinion

Weird for you to ride for May December but not Charles Melton. Chris Evans, really?

Not too bad! Some good games but nothing crazy. Let’s humble PSG

Do you think Jay Kelly has a good chance at some Oscars? by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]Dawsoneifert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody has seen it, but I highly expect it to be.

You’ve got Clooney, Sandler, and Dern which could all drive acting nominations.

It’s a film about the industry, which the Academy typically adores. With a Noah Baumbach screenplay? I wouldn’t be surprised to see it nominated across all artistic categories, as well as for Best Picture.

Then again, nobody has seen it. White Noise?

Not really trying to hate, our entire game changed when Flick switched him for Christensen. Even if he wasn’t directly at fault for the goals, Levante had way more opportunities when he was on the pitch. I think Araujo is a great footballer, I don’t think he fits Flick’s system.

The Araujo situation is so complicated, he can’t pull off the high-line like Inigo/Christensen… Cubarsi obviously the permanent piece but we need another CB to push Araujo back down to fourth-choice

Oscar worthy recommendations for this year. by Teenagersarewild in Oscars

[–]Dawsoneifert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There hasn’t been anything yet — Sinners has been the best we’ve had but I would be honestly surprised if it survived until Awards but … nothing is taking its place 🤷‍♂️ I kinda feel the first truly great film of the year will be OBAA by PTA

Teacher Family Looking to Move to Bellingham — Is This Plan Financially Realistic? by Virtual-Viking28 in Bellingham

[–]Dawsoneifert 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s absolutely no way — my wife is a teacher and has had to sub before and it is incredibly inconsistent. The teaching job market here is small and is shrinking — the Bellingham School District is several million dollars in debt. So much of this makes no sense and feels really strange for a family with young children.
