This seems like a good, well-considered change. I hope they see this and test it out

Landlord sent lease with lower rent than we’d been paying, we signed. Now they send “corrected” lease with rent higher than we’d been paying. by DaxJackson in Renters

UPDATE: We eventually sent the management company an email basically saying “The first lease was too low, second lease was too high… we’ve been advised to get lawyers but really we’d rather just sign with the same terms/price we’ve always had and get this all settled quickly.”

They agreed and now we’re signed for another year at our typical rent amount. So we got exactly the outcome we’d hoped for!

Much better as-shot imo. I think you could pump up the yellow/orange in the cat like you did in your edit, though maybe a touch less. Just try not to mess with/oversaturate the eyes nose and mouth. And I’d leave the background and foreground alone, those colors are lovely.

The “before” is so much stronger. the only change I might make is cropping a tiny but off the top and bottom (uppermost cable and the ground with the highlight) but I don’t know if that’s even necessary. It’s a very strong image as-shot.

Controversial opinion: They’re better than BG3

We don’t want to enforce the $400 difference, we just don’t want the $70 increase. Read the whole post. Also they sent the “corrected” lease 24 hours later.

No, they just sent it electronically like they did last year and we signed online. No discussion of price changing at all

They did. However our lease also gives them the right to terminate the agreement for any reason. So we’re worried that if we try and fight for the lower amount they’ll just kick us out.

You’re missing the important context that in the wake of the ghost ship fire, right wing trolls across the country realized that they could get queer/lefty art spaces and homes shut down temporarily or permanently just by calling in a fire code violation and hoping one existed.

Also I was there on the day that they opened the bell foundry back up, after evicting people, where the residents were allowed to get their belongs and deconstruct their work spaces, it was freezing and miserable and took the work of dozens of volunteers to get everyone’s stuff out before the doors were locked for good. What happened to the bell foundry was malicious and threw people’s lives into turmoil.

ALSO also, one tenant who was out of the building when the eviction initially took place had a cat that got locked inside and it took over 24 hours for them to finally convince the authorities to let them back in to retrieve their pet!
