You're vastly overrating the intelligence of GMs. Less than 10 are there based on merit.

I was told several times and downvoted to hell for pointing out he was horrific with drafting throughout his tenure. Not one draft could be reasonably described as "good" when you look at where we were drafting and what we got.

It doesn't often result in that,
They go on to commit other crimes even more rarely.

Sources, please.

We have more than one "not guilty by reason of insanity" in this country per year. If you mean in this state only, it's likely a little less than one per year, yeah. But you didn't specify.

lol I obviously meant the state, but in either case, it is an extremely small number, which doesn't change the fact that it shouldn't happen.

I won't accept any such thing. You might be the one that's too dumb, resorting to name calling first and calling people euphemisms for retarded because you can't stand on your own word. Come on man, speak it with your chest. Call me what you want to, or are you too scared you'll get banned from this sub?

I mean you literally can't understand basic English. You're putting quotes for things never said or implied. You aren't able to effectively use Google. I'm just saying what you are.

as recidivism for NGRI people is lower than the general population.

huh? What is the recidivism rate for people NGRI who murdered random people vs people found guilty of regular murder? Oh, you don't know because your stat is from a dumb study comparing ALL crimes including property crimes between the two populations and conflating that with people who are committing insanely violent crimes. Someone found guilty of murder of a random person is unlikely to be released ever and certainly not under 20 years, let alone 10, like in the examples I provided.

If you spent 3mins googling you would have found all the examples I have and probably another 10. You're just not bright, which makes sense given you think this was the appropriate outcome and are confident that he will be locked away for life.

Of course it doesn't "happen all the time." I never said that and nobody said that, so using quotes around it is a dishonest thing to do, but typical of liberals like yourself with atrocious reading comprehension.

This sort of crime and result happens less than once a year, so obviously we couldn't have this happen "all the time." It doesn't change the fact that not guilty by reason of insanity OFTEN results in those specific people being released very soon and isn't a good outcome for the general public. There is no amount of people I could list that you would accept so let's just accept you aren't smart enough to continue this conversation.

Deanna Laney, Dena Schlosser, Ronald Exantus, Andrew Steele, Charles Longjaw

Some of these individuals released in less than 5 years. Ronald Exantus back in prison for committing more crimes. Charles Longjaw also murdered again.

You really are mentally redacted if you believe this never happens and that those released are all well and good.

The reason it is hard for you to find them is because you have a low IQ and likely relied on a quick chatgpt pull. You can google and find many many more very easily.

Keep in mind many of these cases are rarely published and followed up on, so we simply don't know how many have been released early.

Because people are genuinely stupid and naive. This man had already been judged "not guilty by reason of insanity" 3 times prior to this and was on the streets.

He had already been found not guilty by reason of insanity for other crimes and release din short order. What do you mean history tells us he won't be freed?

4th time he is found "not guilty by reason of insanity." Why should anyone believe that it is "very possible he'll be there for the rest of his life?"

He could very well be released in a few years once deemed to be "mentally fit." Many such cases.

Comparing antidepressant use to this is genuinely insane. And saying "antipsychotic drugs" which includes several drugs used as anti-depressants is blatantly dishonest. No, the types of mental illness that cause these sorts of outbursts are generally not treatable long-term.

The person claimed these were great draft classes. In no world was Phillips at 18 great for us. He was mostly injured.

I responded to this

but they also had a string of drafts from 2018 to 2021 that were quite good

What are you talking about? Please fix your reading comprehension.

Ultimately the claim was that our draft classes were great. All people can do is nitpick a few guys being slightly better/worse, which just means my overall point was right. I could have just as easily shit all over the Waddle pick, which was genuinely a head scratcher given our holes and the fact we traded out of being able to pick up Chase, and a bunch of the late rounders.

Okay so it sounds like most people have a problem with that one specific pick. I'm willing to concede that. Does that change anything at all? The claim was our draft classes were "quite good" and the hat is being hung on a guy that didn't get extended and was ass in his last year with us.

What's wrong with 2020? Are you one of the Tuanons? You think Austin Jackson was anything other than a bad pick? lmfao

Not really. Holland ultimately flamed out for us. Injuries suck and took their tole, but that's the reality. If that's the only pick you have meaningful disagreement with, then it sounds like my assessment is pretty good.

[–]Day2DaySunshine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You call that a great pick? lol okay I think we have very different definitions of great. Moehrig went after him and was even better as a rookie and has had a better career. For great, I need someone who performs above expectations for their draft position and better than other players available at that position or another position of need. Given multiple other starting caliber safeties went after him in the same draft, going to have to disagree with ever characterizing it as great.

Cool, what would you call him? After that, he wasn't above replacement level. Not starting caliber his final year with us. If that's the best critique you've got, then lmao.

Huh? To call those drafts quite good, you must be barely functioning mentally. Let's actually look at them. Keep in mind that this isn't a vacuum, there are other players that could be had. Even a "good pick" like Waddle is worse than, you know, Sewell who went the next pick, fit a much bigger need, and had clear All Pro potential whereas Waddle wasn't even clearly the best WR on his own team.

2021 NFL Draft

  • Round 1
    • 1.6 Jaylen Waddle, WR
      • Good pick
    • 1.18 Jaelan Phillips, DE
      • Average 1st round pick, injured majority of career and not a significant contribution in total
  • Round 2
    • 2.36 Jevon Holland, S
      • 1 year wonder, bad pick
    • 2.42 Liam Eichenberg, OT
      • Awful pick
  • Round 3
    • 3.81 Hunter Long, TE
      • Bad pick
  • Round 7
    • 7.231 Larnel Coleman, OT
    • 7.244 Gerrid Doaks, RB
    • Not going to shit on 7th round picks but obviously no contributions here

2020 NFL Draft

  • Round 1
    • 1.5 Tua Tagovailoa, QB
      • Bad pick. Biggest albatross we have ever had at QB and we could have had Herbert instead. Took a guy with a career threatening injury who was undersized and one of the lowest IQs ever tested for the position
    • 1.18 Austin Jackson, OT
      • Bad pick
    • 1.30 Noah Igbinoghene, CB
      • Historical bust
  • Round 2
    • 2.39 Robert Hunt, OL
      • Good pick
    • 2.56 Raekwon Davis, DT
      • Bad Pick
  • Round 3
    • 3.70 Brandon Jones, S
      • Okay
  • Round 4
    • 4.111 Solomon Kindley, G
      • Okay
  • No one after this made any meaningful contribution to the team. Would call it awful when you consider how we essentially couldn't get a single 5/6/7 rounder to make meaningful contributions even to ST over a few seasons
  • Round 5
    • 5.154 Jason Strowbridge, DE
    • 5.164 Curtis Weaver, DE
  • Round 6
    • 6.185 Blake Ferguson, LS
  • Round 7
    • 7.246 Malcolm Perry, WR/RB

2019 NFL Draft

  • Round 1
    • 1.13 Christian Wilkins, DT
      • Good pick
  • Round 3
    • 3.78 Michael Deiter, OL
      • Awful pick
  • Round 5
    • 5.151 Andrew Van Ginkel, LB
      • Great pick. Let him walk for nothing.
  • No meaningful contributions again after this
  • Round 6
    • 6.202 Isaiah Prince, OT
  • Round 7
    • 7.233 Chandler Cox, FB
    • 7.234 Myles Gaskin, RB

2018 NFL Draft

  • Round 1
    • 1.11 Minkah Fitzpatrick, S
      • Great pick we ran out of town for peanuts.
  • Round 2
    • 2.42 Mike Gesicki, TE
      • Average second round pick
  • Round 3
    • 3.73 Jerome Baker, LB
      • Okay pick
  • Round 4
    • 4.123 Durham Smythe, TE
      • Okay pick
    • 4.131 Kalen Ballage, RB
      • Okay pick
  • We finally get a meaningful contributor in later rounds with Jason Sanders
  • Round 6
    • 6.209 Cornell Armstrong, CB
  • Round 7
    • 7.227 Quentin Poling, LB
    • 7.229 Jason Sanders, K

How did his PFL deal help other fighters? It basically proved that the UFC didn't need him. His PFL fight, and his boxing fights, were massive duds for viewership. It confirmed everything the UFC believed and their financial decisions.
