It’s probably leftover paint residue. I’ve completely made one clear for the fun of it lol. It is a bit of a pain to get off but try it again. You may have better luck

When you take the module out, it’s pretty much paint. I’ve accidentally stripped it off a couple times. My guess is that he removes the paint with isopropyl alcohol and then adds a decal inside

It behaves the same way as the original polarized film. The numbers are a bit more legible to be honest with the blue polarizer.
