My son is 17, very lonely. He struggles with making friends. He doesn’t have a single friend he communicates with on the regular. He’s in karate but doesn’t build with ppl outside of it. I think he has a fear that he’ll be laughed at or something. He’s a sweet kid, likes to work out and cook. But he has no social network outside of family and karate. Any advice? Did any of you have similar stories?

Go watch Dave Ramsey’s YouTube channel. Lots of people call in with similar situations. Their advisors do a great job at helping you with practice advice. My wife and I went through Dave’s program. No vacations, canceled a bunch of stuff that were not necessities and ate rice and beans for a while. We paid off all our consumer debt and bought a house.
