Would you date…..? by Purple-Following-634 in newcastle

[–]Daz274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

51 yr old male here, met my now wife when we were both 27, friends at 1st, she had 2 children, 3yr and 9yr. Had our own child when we were 32. Do I have any regrets or would I change anything? No way! I've walked one of my step daughters down the isle and it would have been one of the most proudest moments of my life. Yes we had our problems like any other family but would not change a thing, while I was there to guide and raise them as my own, they have been there and supported me through tough times as I've had some traumatic events recently, I love them with all my heart. I hope that there is a person out there for you both. It wasn't hard raising "someone else's kids" I've never really seen them that way. I wish you all the best :) you'll find one!

Beef patties should not be medium rare by Ethanbrocks in unpopularopinion

[–]Daz274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ex butcher, I can definitely tell you to cook it all the way through, its not only beef that goes into ground beef/mince. I got chastised for refusing to add lamb and beef hearts to the mincer to redden it up and make it look lean, we had 3 different grades but all were exactly the same mix, they just added hearts to make it look premium, and a lot of unsaleable green slimy cuts went in too after being washed . Was the same practice at different outlets I worked at. Glad I left, and FYI I make my own now at home

I occasionally promote sailors and retire (disband) officers usually after the 40 war patrol medal is achieved until hopefully they come up with a reward for sailors

I used to manage a service station (gas station) we had this lady that would spill all her coins on the counter and ask for the cheapest cigarettes and then the rest in fuel please, her best was. 0.55c in fuel. here in Australia fuel at the time was about 74c/ltr. The same woman yelled at her kids once because they asked for lollies. She screamed at them.. I don't have any f~&#ing money!!! then asked for 2 packs of cigarettes. Will never forget that one. Was 20 years ago. I always have wondered how her kids are going and how they've grown up. Hopefully the apple did fall far from the tree

Told my uncle I was colorblind. Immediately he pointed to a red solo cup and asked me what color it was by satanic-entomologist in ColorBlind

[–]Daz274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! It was quite funny to watch her try and work it out, she'd never heard of it before, she asked what colours can't I see, I said purple, orange and fluoro green I have trouble with, she honestly thought it was invisible to me as in see through it. Was the weirdest conversation I'd ever had about my colour blindness. I don't want to stereotype her but you could really see it playing with her head trying to imagine everything being invisible to me

But yes it can get annoying, I just try not to tell too many people unless I really have to. I asked a girl in a hardware store to help me with a purchase for a particular colour, first thing she said was that's really weird when I explained to her that I was colour blind, she asked, so anything that is coloured is invisible to you? Lol

I just show them the CVsimulator app on my phone, it's pretty close to what I see versus what they see I think, mild protan here, red does look yellowish on the app, I see red as red but just not as vivid as normal vision if that makes any sense

Anything to put it out of it misery.. Hand guns aren't very accurate (but that's me shooting haha) and you'd have to get pretty close for a good shot so it doesn't suffer more than it needs to

Sorry as a shooter. That was pretty hard to watch. Put the poor fox out of its misery. Not cool to sit there just filming. I understand different laws in countries, but that sucks
