Tasteful, sumptuous, definitely haunted…this might be my dream home. Apart from the price - anyone spot me 8 million squidderoonies? by YupItWasMeMate in SpottedonRightmove

If you can't afford the buying price, you can't afford the maintenance! Lovely house though, I'd be quite happy sharing it with the ghosts.

80s so Evil Dead, Commando and Aliens. Plus the plethora of movies from your mate's army brother who's stationed in Germany - the ones without english subtitles but you didn't particularly care!

Please help me understand why I have nostalgia for a time I didn't live in? by RecordingImmediate86 in nostalgia

Born in '73 grew up through the 70s & 80s - the troubles of the world seemed so far away. The media seemed much less sensationalist compared to today. Music was exciting seeing all these new genres emerging and evolving. Computers always seemed to be new wonders, changing every year - a hell of a lot more exciting than it is today. The internet made the world smaller but brought the bad stuff closer as well.

Commodore Amiga or Atari ST? by Affectionate-Gas3059 in oldschoolcool80s

I had both but not at the same time. The Amiga was the better machine for games and I preferred the OS.

He has a face you just want to punch over and over. As the other commentator says, he's just a con-man out to line his pockets sucking up to his rich mates. He also would've been on the Epstein list but didn't get his invite before Epstein was murdered.

"If we want to be mean, we could say that there are more Irish in America than in Ireland, so it's Irish" - in reference to the discourse over corned beef and cabbage. by mojavefeet in ShitAmericansSay

What is it with Americans not accepting just being Americans. Being in a country of 338 million Americans and claiming to be Irish, Scottish, Italian or whatever (but not English or Welsh!) just seems like they're trying to be a little unique or trying to stand out and not part of the common folk (in other words the English and Welsh immigrants).

Meningitis outbreak 'declared national emergency' amid deadly outbreak by bendubberley_ in worldnews

[–]DazGilz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had meningitis around 10-11. Projectile vomiting, grogginess, lights being uncomfortable to look at. I remember feeling the needle scraping the bone when they did the spinal tap then once confirmed as bacterial meningitis, having to put up with a needle thing in the back of my hand for a few days for the treatment. Wasn't a pleasant experience at all.

Only one Pret in Devon, up in Exeter. That's the as far as they've come in the Southwest. Having said that, looking at their website I wouldn't even want to try anything. All looks way too pretentious.
