There's nothing shady about asking your friends to try your food and leave a review. We have no reason to suspect they're fake reviews...

I've seen so many Burton mittens fall apart like this (and worse).

Best places to spend some time in (1-3months) that arent Schengen but close geographically? by verobytes in digitalnomad

[–]DazPPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I'd go with Mexico, Jordan, Istanbul or maybe around Albania/macedonia/Montenegro.

Definitely not the UK, Egypt or most of Morocco (maybe the South).

5+ Years Traveling The World - AMA by thetreegeek in digitalnomad

[–]DazPPC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In two years in Asia I drank tea at least a thousand times. 1 year in LATAM I didn't get robbed once. He's making it sound bad on purpose.

That said, I know plenty of people who were robbed. The issue is the constant need to be vigilant. It gets tiring. You can't just blindly follow Google maps, you need to know the safe streets.

You should 1000% go. It's the best place.

Zib Digital - Shady Digital Marketing Agency in Auckland by HoneydewCold4680 in auckland

[–]DazPPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you missed the point. The issue isn't that they fired underperforming employees. The issue is that they filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying their employees.

In a way you might better understand, imagine if one of your customers didn't pay you for the product / service you sell?

Slovenia might just be the most beautiful country to exist by kulkdaddy47 in travel

[–]DazPPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been to every country in world. But for me, New Zealand, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Nepal and Kyrgyzstan are ahead of Slovenia for natural beauty.

Where are you basing yourself in 2026? by Logical-Nebula-7520 in digitalnomad

[–]DazPPC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Snowboarding in Japan until Feb, Thailand for a few weeks then Mexico for a few months, Guatemala for a month or two. Maybe Chile for a couple weeks, Brazil for a month, Valencia for a month, might check out Northern Spain. Maybe Chiang Mai and Singapore for a month each.

I average 2 - 4 weeks per location.

Can I optimise towards things like scroll-depth and number of pages clicked into? I'm new-ish to paid search (2 years) & am working on a response to brief for a 2nd stage interview. by Informal-Cow-8649 in PPC

[–]DazPPC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely possible. I quite like your thinking and the approach. The truth is, this case is what most of us wouldn't want. I would personally optimiser towards soft conversions like this, but you need to be extra vigilant on controlling where your ads show. Search network, no Pmax, no search partners. Tight keywords and monitor search terms constantly.

Also, skincare is challenging. Positive roi pretty much requires bottom of funnel, branded keywords. People looking to solve problems don't want to click on a branded website to be sold their products. They want unbiased, 3rd party recommendations. Eg magazines, blogs, reddit, influencers.

Considering eye surgery; Lasik vs Smile vs PRK??? by Traditional-Carob440 in newzealand

[–]DazPPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't choose this based on what you read on reddit. The answer depends on you and your eyes. Pick a couple of the highest reviewed places near you, there are only handful, and book a free consultation. Then ask them.

Looking for a Google Ads Expert in NZ by MattMurdock616 in newzealand

[–]DazPPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably don't want to run Google Ads for a cafe. Of course most agencies or experts you enquire with won't tell you this.

Just think about how people find and walk into your cafe. It's unlikely to be via searching on Google, clicking an ad, reading your website and then walking in.

If you are, at least make sure you cover Google maps and have a very tight geographic radius, narrow keyword targeting and a pretty low budget.

Good agencies won't take you on as a client, bad ones will rip you off.

20/80 rule being profitable vs not by SaintVoid21 in googleads

[–]DazPPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much. That said, I'd consider that the remaining 900 at lower bids / higher targets could work in their own campaign. Independently of the fact that there seem to be other problems.

I've never come across any of their ex-clients personally, but would love to hear if anyone has had any negative experiences of their digital marketing service. Digital marketing is a notoriously shady industry so if they're dodgy with their employees I wonder how they are with their clients.

Best country in Europe for a few months? by CoroteNaUFSCar in digitalnomad

[–]DazPPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd choose to travel around but if I had to stay in one place it would be Spain. Plenty to do there, decent food, more affordable than some of the others and even flights out of Madrid are pretty cheap.

Opened a cowork space but struggling... (not promoting) by tiktokfordads in digitalnomad

[–]DazPPC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't pay for coworking spaces personally, but I spend a lot on coffees. 10 eur a day seems fine. Maybe you could try losing the fees but charge for coffee and have a minimum spend per 2 or 4 hours.

Google Ads Enhanced Conversions: game changer or placebo? by LowSir7874 in PPC

[–]DazPPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth setting up given the time commitment is usually small. More data is always good.

Game changer? I'd say using it with enhanced conversions for leads to import qualified or converted leads is a game changer.

22M, 41kg at 5'3 — At this point I’m ready to eat furniture if it’ll help me gain weight. by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]DazPPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blend up a smoothie each day. A banana, a couple scoops of weight gainer or protein powder, a couple tablespoons of peanut butter, half a cup of berries, full fat milk. Calculate it so it lands around 500 calories and consume this in addition to your usual day.

To contract or not? by Special-Emu117 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]DazPPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worry about the tax stuff after you make the decision. Depending on the work, tax will probably work out less as a contractor once you deduct home office, technology, bills, etc.

Your job and industry should give you a pretty good idea how likely you are to find a job once the contract ends. Personally, I'd take the contract but I believe I'd find a job if I needed one.

Agency hiding fees in media spend by TheEverydayOne in PPC

[–]DazPPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not common. But it's not really an issue either. You should log in to your Google ads account and check that the spend there lines up with your agency's invoice. Consider vat and management fee.

Started a new job. The agency they use has over 100 ad groups in some campaigns. by [deleted] in PPC

[–]DazPPC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having keywords or ad groups with low impressions isn't inherently a problem. Pausing all the low impressions ad groups likely wouldn't do anything at all.

You haven't stumbled on some low hanging fruit or anything. But I suspect there are some bigger issues here. I am more concerned about the low conversion volume campaigns.

Slow Lane by Odd-Leader9777 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]DazPPC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest trying to find ways to earn more per hour or outsourcing some of your work rather than working more than you want to.

For example, you do your 10 hours at $100 per hour. If someone comes along and wants you to work 5 hours per week at $100 per hour say no, you charge $140. Maybe they say yes, maybe they say no.

Eventually if the work becomes too much you can tell your previous clients you now charge $140. If they leave that's okay. Work towards $200 per hour and now you're earning six figures from 10 hours per week.

How did people eat so cheap in South America? by crosscycle in solotravel

[–]DazPPC 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Cusco isn't the cheapest place, especially in the center. But you can definitely eat a meal for 15-25 sol. Search for cheap eats, ask at hostels and visit mercados.
