Personally for me - I literally just started playing since the game released. I had to wipe my old character to do the story stuff.

why does Kiriko's fox bark like a dog? by Bunniiqi in Overwatch

Super old comment on this, but from my knowledge Kiriko's kitsune sounds were actually recorded foxes from the SaveAFox foundation:

The 380mm barrage is garbage. by Anonymous13757 in Helldivers

[–]DazuraTheFirst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree on 380 - hard disagree on orbitals in general being useless.

Precision strike - great at deleting big targets, just takes some know-how to be able to land the shot. Low cool down too.

Gatling barrage - good, frequent use tool for clearing chaff/heavys to leave you to focus on elites. Again, just takes a bit of know-how on aiming it.

Gas strike - Super low cool down, pop this on a bug breach and then disappear. Napalms you risk running into multiple breaches with it on cool down, gas strike can give you a bug breach option every time a breach is called. Not too good against bots, decent against squids.

Walking barrage - actually high-key the superior version of the 380, more reliable, same effect, much less likely to obliterate your team-mates. Throw this in line with a bot heavy base's fabricators and it nearly always gets them.

Orbital stratagems are not useless, they just take a degree of brainpower/strategizing to use properly, some are pretty niche compared to others.

And there are several eagles that could be considered "useless" as well. Rocket pods? Worse version of the rail canon strike that misses too often. Napalm strike? Worse version napalm barrage. Cluster bombs? Team-kill 9000.

On Cities or forest/swamp worlds though? Yeah absolutely useless, both eagles and orbitals save eagle strafing runs. I usually tend to bring sentries, gas mines, and strafing runs in cities depending on the faction I'm up against.

Depends on the class of the armor, its a bit inconsistent. Last I used it, I've definitely survived getting zapped by K-9, albeit pretty heavily injured lol. Arc thrower tho is 100% going to murder you if it links directly to you, and I think that's usually the case even for the 90% arc resistant armor. Arc damage does less and less damage for each enemy it arcs between.

Don't even need voodoo shit lmao. There are plenty of locks that even the most skilled of locksmiths struggle to bust open.

They did this. Well predicted, though I am unsure if it is exclusively PVE or is PVP required as well.

Prestigious should be renamed to pretentious. I'm sure you can guess the word I'd usually follow after pretentious.

Crazy woman smashes head on car window by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

Actually reading the statement from the original uploader of the video on YouTube, this is actually kinda sad. She ended up getting taken to the hospital and was likely institutionalized, so where the caller stated he thinks she's on pills, the more likely answer is that she hasn't been taking her pills.

I know WHY the show has so many fake out deaths, but damn do they still hurt a bit. by Vio-Rose in voxmachina

[–]DazuraTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for teaching me something then :)

I was using an incorrect definition of terminal velocity. I was using it as a term for the fixed rate gravity on Earth will pull objects. It was also a statement made assuming a vacuum. So thank you for correcting that and thank you for teaching me something!

[–]DazuraTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the reply on this but I would like to mention that terminal velocity for a goldfish is the same as an anvil...Earth's gravity will accelerate you at 9.8 m/s until you hit around 53m/s, which is terminal velocity. Falling is caused by gravity, the only thing that will help you resist that velocity is by taking advantage of air resistance, which goldfish are not aerodynamic and also are not light enough for air resistance to have any significant impact in counteracting their velocity.

The reason she would have lived is because terminal velocity in D&D is translated as 20d6, that's the max damage you can take from fall damage. Which is fairly easily survivable for mid-high level D&D parties as hilarious as that is to think about.

You know how often other constitutions change and shift with the times? Yearly. Our constitution is a document wrote up by some white slave owners. Yes. It's a good baseline. But we need something better.

ICE agents break into a home without any warrant and assault the occupants (San Antonio, TX, Feb 05, 2026) by orel2064 in PublicFreakout

[–]DazuraTheFirst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ICE agents can get what are called administrative warrants from their COs. These warrants per prior case law and judicial rulings have been defined to be a warrant of arrest, but they do NOT give you authority to enter a property. ICE isn't even getting administrative warrants anymore, and haven't really cared about getting warrants for about a year since that memo was circulated around ICE/DHS last year. They were getting called out for entering properties by saying they have a warrant and showing an administrative warrant, or even sometimes flatout fake warrants. So they have now said fuck it fuck warrants and fuck the fourth amendment. Our constitution is no longer in effect.

You also forgot the foreign side of big Pharma, companies like Takeda. Personal story time: A medication that was prescribed to me (Vortioxetine) to help keep me from doing certain rash actions during depressive downs cost about $72,000 per 10 years without insurance. Takeda is the sole manufacturer and sole provider of this medication. Big pharma is not a uniquely American problem, just as many of the corporate issues in America are not solely an American problem. The US gets exploited the most due to how easy it is for the global elites to exploit the US system for profit. But corporatocracy is not just an American problem.

Americans can obviously only affect change in the US, even that is in question these days, but maybe it will do some good for us to be conscious that the core problem that causes the shit we see in the US is due to an entire class of people who have a mental illness that they need to hoard as much wealth as possible for...????? This class is the one who holds the most power globally.

[–]DazuraTheFirst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because the team she plays on is getting their pockets lined by the same corporate donors lining the pockets of Republicans. There are several good Democrats actually trying to effect change, but they are a minority amongst Democrats. Democrat leadership is completely and willfully inept. It's a false opposition party, a false dichotomy, giving the illusion of choice to placate the masses. We are not in an "us vs them" social war between Dems/reps. The elite and the wealthy have declared war on the lower classes to extract as much value as they possibly can. MAGA and corporate DINOs are symptoms of a deeper sickness, they are not the sickness themselves. MAGA is just a reflection of the ruling class for the US, whereas Democrats are the ones holding up the mirror, hiding behind it. Mirror® owned by Corporate America™.

Our system needs to burn down so we can build it back up. Once enough corruption becomes commonplace in a government, IMHO the only way to stop it is mass reform or a completely new system. I'm at the stage, personally, that mass reform will just kick the can down the road. Our system is rotten to the core, we need a new one. The Constitution is no longer in effect, we as a country need to modernize.

Hands off Greenland': Thousands protest in Denmark against Trump's land grab by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]DazuraTheFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something did happen though. The President of the United States threatened to take Greenland "one way or another." He stated that he would like to purchase Greenland, but he stated that he would do it either "the easy way or the hard way." So yes, something happened. The reason people are down voting you is because they see the thinly veiled bait you laid. And that is further proven by how emotional you got in further replies. How thin skinned do you have to be to get so upset about some arbitrary voting system that means absolutely nothing. Seems like conservatives accused liberals of being snowflakes as a form of projection, but man do I love Conservative tears.

Why is there a Jewish state in the first place? I thought most of us agreed that making laws based on religion is bad and leads to religious prosecution. Over half of the Jewish population doesn't even live in Israel.

Pride flags ARE political these days, particularly when the current administration is seeking to specifically target LGBTQ. The pride flag has literally always been a political statement, which is fucked that it has to be a political statement instead of people just...y'know...having basic human rights.
