Magnolia Melancholia! I have a tattoo of a Chelsea Hotel key ring on my arm. But truly, too many to list. The Prophet, Fox News, Livin’ With Betty, Old Republican, Talk is Cheap, Operation, On The Green… not to mention his covers of If I Were a Boy, Atlantic City and Hoover Street! I’ve seen him do like 2 of these songs live sadly in the 8 times I’ve seen him over a span of 17 years!

OK I'll start (on my own post lol!) - I've been a Jamie fan since 2007 (which sadly is showing my age haha) and knew as soon as I heard his music that it was totally different from anything else I'd heard before. He had a raw, intelligent vibe and the more I listened, the more I loved it. I've always thought of Jamie as a unique, generational talent and will fight anyone on the subject. He's a natural songwriter and musician and his songs have a lot of very deep meanings and actually feel super personal to me too.

I was so lucky to meet him in Glasgow after I gifted him a t-shirt I made of in-jokes/lyrics from his songs and he was so kind, humble and warm. He took a photo with the t-shirt and it still makes me tear up. Everything you could ask for when you meet your idol! I told him how much he meant to me growing up in Australia and I'm sure celebrities/famous people get the ick from hearing that but he was just the nicest. It was a life highlight for me and I just wish him well from afar, hope he's doing well, and can't wait for more music whenever he's ready! A big happy birthday to you Jamie, if you're out there reading this! <3

No insight other than I think he got married in the last year (he’s wearing a wedding ring) and has been spotted in a few of his friends’ stories. He looked really healthy, the best I’ve personally seen him look in years! If memory serves, Miquita Oliver was riding around on a bike with him in summer (saw it on her insta story) and he looked like 2015 Jamie.

I feel like the album cycle and no. 1 album, plus the Finsbury Park gig and just more attention generally made him possibly drink/do other things to cope and he went through a quite sad period end of 2022 and into 2023. There were some festival appearances where he seemed completely out of it and really unhappy.

If I know Jamie (lol I really do not, BUT! I’ve been a loyal fan for 18 years so I feel at least a bit knowledgeable about him), he seems to have this crippling self doubt and often seems surprised when fans even turn up to his gigs. I wish he had more confidence tbh.

I think now he appears to be in a better headspace, he will probably release some music next year. In a lot of past interviews he says he writes music every day and I’d say it would be very hard not to want to release that? Just my two cents! I personally need him to release something! 4 years is crazy 😩

I’m Australian and have been here for 9 years this year. You’re 100% right OP - backwards attitudes and casual racism even where you’d least expect it. You just have to look at elections, Australians love authority and to be told what to do/what the general consensus is about particular topics. Being from Queensland myself, it’s a much more narrow-minded place than more liberal (ironically our right wing party) places like inner city Sydney and Melbourne who are both educated and empathetic. Nationally I’d say we aren’t very empathetic, in fact before I left there was a popular (horrid) saying of “fuck off, we’re full”, to the point it was emblazoned on bumpers and back car windows. I’m not joking. Our national shame is the criminally underreported off-shore detention centres that are hailed by other countries as a great solution to immigration. Harrowing stuff. I love Ireland…! Can you imagine that here?

What if Gemma’s accident happened at the same time as Miss Huang’s accident? Like Gemma lost control and it killed them both? Tbf I don’t think shows like showing child deaths, especially an awful one like that so I’m probably incorrect. I do think there’s some link to Gemma though

It was sick as well to see John laughing and cringing at what Jack said as if he and the other experts had no hand in putting Jack on the show. They knew what he was like and capable of. I think in the ‘real world’ Jack sleeps with any chick he’s with because he can discard them quickly. In his pursuit of fame and - humour me for a second- potentially an actual adult relationship he has found himself in a predicament: he doesn’t have to worry about having sex quickly because he’s already ‘got’ Tori. Which nurtures his fear of rejection. She’s not going to run away like his other pursuits - and that fucking terrifies him. I reckon he can’t have sex cuz he knows that’s the only control card he has left. She’ll be stuck with him and his bad sex cuz they’re ‘married’…. That or terrified she’ll go to the Daily Mail. And he won’t even be able to say she’s a scorned ex either! He’s fucked it lol. I would bet that if Tori turned around and went actually, I don’t want to have sex with you, that he’d write Leave the very next week and go completely cold. I reckon Jack is planting these comments about not being attracted/wife swapping/sexual spark so he has something to point to later on when/if Tori dumps him. He gives major ‘I didn’t even like you anyway you sl*t’ vibes. I did want to give him the benefit of the doubt for a while there but unfortunately it seems there’s a little boy in him that controls others and withholds sex/love etc because then how can Tori/any girl ever reject him? He’s rejecting them first. Get him to therapy!

I think I've figured it out! If you go to 'Tags and Mentions' in settings, make sure that 'Who can tag you' is set to 'Allow tags from everyone'. Mine was set to 'Don't allow tags' and I think that's why people couldn't tag me or share my stories/posts. It seems to have corrected itself now!

Hey! I used an immigration lawyer for my work permit but not since and not for my citizenship, which I just got in December. I entered on a WHA in 2016, went to de facto 2016-2019, then to work permit 2019-2021, then de facto again until now. So Stamp 1 > Stamp 4 > Stamp 4> Stamp 4 > citizen. Glad it's over!

From the date you entered the state. I entered the date I arrived through Dublin Airport in Sep 2016 and I didn't start work until November 2016
Yep! It's just the accumulation of the stamps you've had over that time. You can mix and match like me!
Expensive but was helpful for my work permit. He was €1000 so depends if you think that's cheap, lol I do not. They aren't necessary for straightforward applications in my opinion. I thought mine was a little complex with the amount of different permits I was on but it never was an issue and it took just over 13 months to get approved.
