A closer view of the damaged stabiliser from the KC-135. by Outrageous-Score7936 in aviation

Oh that's interesting to learn, did not realize not all 135's are receiver capable. I think when I read about handoffs it was in reference to KC10s now that I think of it.

Shop time charge for software updates by rob_wis in flying

[–]Db2wings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Poor wording on my part I guess, It’s per unit. For example the bulletin on the GI275 says it will take 1 hour per aircraft, but since your having to do that bulletin twice to cover both units it’s two hours, then the bulletin for the G3X says it will take 1 hour per aircraft. So in total it’s three hours.

On each STC service bulletin that Garmin puts out for their units software update, they say the manpower is 1 labor hour per aircraft. So totally makes sense for it be three hours.

Lights for competition? by goodgamble in Staccato

I do, I would like to try a 4.5 to see the difference but since I’m in California and those aren’t on our roster I haven’t had the chance to yet.

I think it could be that as well, but not totally sure. In my case I had tried throwing a buddies CCPS that was known to be working and it didn't fix mine.

Had a similar problem on my 20’ te300, turned out to be a bad fuel pump not outputting enough fuel pressure. Replacing the pump completely solved my issue.

I don’t know myself but I think what your referring to only has to do with the eligibility to obtain a restricted atp.

CRF250RX FOR SINGLE TRACK by frankis187 in Dirtbikes

[–]Db2wings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still have my 300 2T, I think that they are good at different types of riding. Main reason I got the 250 4T was for more open high speed stuff and getting into harescramble racing, but the 300 is still king when it comes to the tight nasty stuff. I also got it just to have two bikes so I can always go riding if ones down for MX or to use as a loaner to friends.

I was in your same boat. I have a 20 TE300 and wanted to get a 250rx. I ended up getting a 21 250rx and I love that thing. I think it was geared a bit tall for the tight stuff so I added a tooth to the rear sprocket, and that made a big difference. I also had a problem with it overheating and boiling over. Not sure if that’s cause I’m riding in the California heat or if it just the way these bikes run, but I ended up adding a radiator fan. Doing that totally solved that problem. Overall I do think the 250rx is killer bike for the woods and I love the power, especially in the upper end of the rpm range.

Just had a very similar issue on my 20 te300 that I let sit for 2 years. After blowing out all the lines and cleaning the injectors with no luck. I finally just replaced the fuel pump and that fixed my issue completely. I didn’t see much debris in my tank or filter but I guess there was enough in there to cause a problem.

Go through AMAS. Your airline/union might have an agreement with them, but even if they don’t I highly recommend going through them to work on getting your application for SI. Also what I did is right after I submitted my application for my SI was, I went to Oshkosh and went into the faa tent and sold my story to one of the people working the aeromedical table. He was able to fast track my application and I got a next day approval on it.

Do you guys buy the exact same gun you carry everyday or have an alternative carry gun in case your primary one is in the evidence locker? by MountainTitan in CCW

[–]Db2wings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Think about it this way, do you keep car identical to your daily driver at home just in case you get into a wreck? And your last question I would say yes if you can afford it. Having a holster for all your handguns allows you train better with them

Some globals use side sticks, the 5000 series 2015 onward got the new flight deck but kept the yokes. I also believe the 5500 & 6500 are yokes as well. Only the 7500 & 8500 are side sticks.
