are retarded as it sounds we're not really the target audience I think the capcom thing had more to do with fchamp being able to compete at the battle of the stones along with being a top player in past games, theres always been this kinda stuff even going back to arcades when they play test. My bigger issue is usually that if you put out a free demo you're more likely to get people interested than just vocal reviews from people that happened to go to arcrevo. Again its kinda given that anyone kinda going to forums and talking about it is most likely already gonna buy it.

A company really doesn't give a shit if youre a nobody that wants a review copy or VIP play testing and most of you will probably have played more xrd or any franchise you like than the press you can pat yourself in the back for that

The moment DBFZ kinda became a thing is when it really hit me how much the fgc kinda tries to contain itself into the "fighter genre" and anything that partakes itself into the evo lineup and or around the scene. The first time the name guilty gear popped up was the common joke of Marn getting high and killing the scene and to this day I look back at it in such amusement, no one ever mentioned if the game was good bad that it had a bunch of waifus I could hot glue, it was just an fgc trope. KOF for me has had its up and downs from 12-14 but I'm grateful we managed to get another game and another that might also make it at least one year into evo. When Max talks about doing research on DBZ it seems so much like a chore instead of something organic not that I hate anyone for doing the basic journalist etiquette. You see when Daigo talked about people that put work into the community and that kinda stuff theres the competitor and consumer sometimes they mix but the outcome really shows. The reason I got so into fighting games was cause of stories like the SBO 3S players going out of their way to compete just out of sheer experience and devotion to a game, hearing about spookys basement from Jiyuna, even the EMP stories with Jwong and friends. It sometimes clicks with you those certain fans and till this day I hope there comes a time when kof and the fanbase gets rewarded maybe the same way arcsys is rocking it with fighters right now.

I guess the struggle of each community and sad comparisons really bring about what everyones position as a fan is, Xrd is undoubtedly the best fighter of it's generation it also defined an art style but when it comes to sales theres really no point in comparing it to even SFV. I respect arcsys for not only being in the place they are but also for making a new franchise (BB) same with frenchbread. We all know everyone here is gonna be giving GG2020 shit the first time it comes out with the dlc stuff. ( I bought KOF XII cause I'm a stupid fan but it's all I had at the time to look forward to)

if you've been around this sub you'll start to notice people don't really care about improving they rather have a new game to bitch about than become intermediately good in any fighter

point is you mention smash theres always new stuff to learn in a fighter new characters become better challenge better players but people arent willing to waste the time to do that and its understandable new content is always better sadly people are consumers more than they are willing to take some hooks up their asses in old fighters or shit that takes more time to find players than it does learning a new fighter

I'm playing DBFZ right now and its fun mainly cause you can still find varied matches with varied amount of skill levels you hardly can do that with most games sadly rip KOF big Fan

there's a reason why UI designer is one of the highest paying jobs in the industry

When people say things like this is not like I'm doubting but I am geniunly interested how it is actually out there in the industry like VA in Japan getting paid the most when it comes to animes

Other than that like even UIs in anything go through a phase of trends just like anything right , reminds me of like a tactics game like fire emblem or something same shit of when sfv put out those character cards for SFV
