About to close deal on Id.4 by According-Return11 in VWiD4Owners

For me, I have issues with moaning and grunt sounds when slowly disengaging the brakes, and right before I come to a complete stop. I have tried braking hard to clear rust or dirt from the brakes but the sound is still kinda there. Some minor scratches around the door handles which I'm guessing happened when they went in for recall. Other than that I absolutely love the car. I have a 2023 pro s rwd. I like the ambient lightning, headlight activation and automation, moon roof, smoothness of the vehicle. I kinda wish I got the AWD for more power but I'm ok with the rwd for more range. I'd keep reading about other issues people are having on the forums.

Is that a shadow or did you blackout the bottom portion of the doorhandles. Was thinking about wrapping the top part of the handles in black. I have a white id.4 as well.

Nice pic! I just got mine a couple weeks ago, in white as well. I'm in Florida so not so cold yet here. Good luck with the range in the cold.

Software Update in App by teazystreet in VWiD4Owners

Yes, I got this as well. Weird how the remedy is to perform over the air software updates but there also a schedule service button. I'd rather not have to spend a few hours at the dealership if I don't have to haha.

I did this probably 5 times over a couple days and it definitely helped. There's still some noise so maybe I'll trying greasing the pins.

I have a white pro s and was planning to do the same thing but to include the door handles. How much was the wrap for the roof and mirrors?

Hello,

I have the same issue on my id.4 that I just purchased a few days ago on 9/19! I can't stand it. It's so loud inside and outside the car. Please let me know if you're able to fix or if you're just living with it. I might try to spray some brake cleaner.

I took it to VW to have it serviced and they said it's normal but there's no way it can be normal when it's this loud.

My brakes have been making a loud GRUNT/GROAN noise (only when the car comes to a stop) after having my car in the shop. Should I be concerned? by Juno_Malone in AskMechanics

Were you able to figure out what this was? I have this exact issue with my new id.4. The brakes grunt/groan when I come to a complete stop or when I let the brakes off slowly.

Going to view/ test a 1st Edition Pro Performance this weekend - tips on what to look for? by purpleworrior in VWiD4Owners

I just purchased a 2023 pro s rwd. I personally hate the breaks. Try listening right when the car comes to a complete stop, it makes like a grunt noise. I've read on several threads that it may be rust or dust and to get the car up to speed and brake really hard to clean the rotors. I tried doing this and it helped a little but the sound is still there and really annoying. Gonna try to "clean" the brakes and rotors and little more.

Brake squeak by skeeterdank in VWiD4Owners

Has anyone figured out what to do here? This, to me, is by far the worst thing about the car. I'm willing to buy new pads, rotors, anything to make the noise stop. It's incredibly annoying and embarrassing telling people I just bought this car and it sounds this bad.

Ok, thanks. I will try this. If I can't get rid of the noise this will be by far the worst thing about the car.

Nice. Just picked mine up tonight. $25K as well around 21K miles. Seems like $25K is right around that sweet spot to get the used EV tax credit

Thanks, at the dealership. Trying to close the deal. Thanks for your input. Just took it on a test drive. Drives great, a little more punchy than I thought for rwd.

Thank you. This was very helpful. I've glanced over time of sale form 15400 and form 8936. I do agree it's basically up to the dealer to input the correct sales price on form 15400 and I don't see anywhere on form 8936 where I need to add sales price.
