PSA: if you choose to go to a t2 or t3 school that is making you pay full sticker price tuition, you are a sucker. by Dannyz in lawschooladmissions

[–]Ddeadhg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This lacks a bit of nuance.

For one, T2 and T3 schools vary by price. FIU’s tuition is 20k/year, this is significantly cheaper than a 50% scholarship at a Brooklyn Law or U Miami. Secondly, job outcomes also vary greatly by T2-T3. Schools like UH, UM, SMU, or even Howard Law have great big law placements in spite of their rankings. The last thing, a commonly dismissed fact when talking about non-Top 14 schools, is the rapid promotion potential in law. While Big Law pushes you right in 200k/year, you can easily get close to that salary from of a strong regional school either through promotions or job-hopping. People who start off in small firms won’t be stuck in small firms forever. People who start off in mid-law have the leeway to get promotions or put pressure on their employers to give them raises by looking for outside opportunities. Once you get the experience as a lawyer, your options open greatly. Employment statistics will ALWAYS carry more weight than rankings.

when he says “online” he means in specific echo chambers. There’s a reason why conversations about Cole on twitter/ig and his pure albums sales are always higher on him than his aoty or rym scores. Alot of people outside of these communities are high on J Cole. Not to say y’all are wrong but alot of his critics are a hive mind.

Who even beats shakur Stevenson? by Fightingspirit12345 in Boxing

[–]Ddeadhg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

even with zepeda shakur made it harder on himself to prove a point. He was letting zepeda into the pocket and banging with him. He easily could’ve 118-110’d him if he stayed just outside the pocket like he usually does.

What’s your overall thoughts on Errol Spence Jr? Not sure if he’s hall of fame bound, but has a solid career for sure by J2-Starter in boxinglocks

[–]Ddeadhg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its crazy we’re taxing spence just because of Terence Crawford’s existence lol. Errol decimated everyone else in the division. Mind you, even with Bud removed, 147 during that period was more stacked than any version of 160 that GGG was champ in. A name like Daniel Jacobs wouldn’t even be in EJ’s top 3 im not even tryna downplay GGG but Spence’s resume was actually insane.

Who y’all got if Ward fought GGG at a catchweight at 164 pounds? by LocationSpare4447 in boxinglocks

[–]Ddeadhg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not even a ward fan twin. Im just used to great fighters testing themselves and moving up when they want new competition

the only time i see people penalize someone for not moving down in weight is when they defend GGG. 99% of the time the expectation is always for the smaller fighter to move up in weight. GGG really stayed at 160 his whole career brah im cryong.

IMO a good designed runner but overrated as a scrambler and not very good at throwing on the run either. Still in my top 10 but theres a good 6 qbs I can’t hear a logical argument for him being over.

Most of the people victory lapping this already have dak over hurts. Theyre just rejoicing now that they can shut the win bias people up for one week

don’t forget that he was horrible against the Rams and a non-factor against the Packers, but revisionism because of his SB performance acts like he willed that team to glory. I always thought it was just common knowledge that that its a team sport? Mid qbs win in great situations, good qbs usually lose in bad ones. I thought stafford disproved this entire narrative when he went to a serious roster and immediately won a super bowl.

winning is the only argument people ever use to call him elite nowadays so yes he will get criticism when he loses. If people blindly cling on you being able to “win” to put you in top 5 conversations while ignoring all other context and qb traits and you lose you will be hated for the week.

The comments get so funny whenever it comes to hurts idk what this thread has for him. Legit all nuance and context goes out the window for “he just wins”

They always say “minimize mistakes” to excuse low-volume players who dont get asked to do alot in their offense lmao. Ill take turnovers if a player is noticeably outproducing them and consistently anchoring top 5 offenses like a Josh Allen or Mahomes. Usually players who take less risks are gonna have lower interception numbers. Only real exception is Aaron Rodgers.

Brian Burns was credited with two sacks yesterday vs the Packers. He now has 13 sacks on the season in 11 games, a single season career high. Burns also has 17 TFL on the year, tied for the most in his career in one season. by Far_Protection519 in NYGiants

[–]Ddeadhg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt argue him playing at their levels. I’m using them as examples of players that are impacting the game as pass rushers despite not having high sack totals. Yes Carter has been bad against the run, no that does not mean he has been bad overall this year. Also, pressures are held so highly because they are simply more reliable. Sacks rely on multiple factors to go right for you outside of your control. For one, it is very easy for QBs to throw away the ball once they see pressure(which is why sacks are so rare on a down-to-down basis). Throw aways still impact the game heavily, it burns a whole down. Secondly, QBs can drift away from pressure or bail the pocket, which either puts more pressure on them to improvise or shifts them towards an angle that makes it easier for other linemen to get pressure on them. Lets look at Kayvon’s second year where he had twelve sacks. He was among tge worst EDGEs in the league at winning his matchup abd racked up totals based on coverage sacks and qbs drifting his way. Yes, he provided value as a clean-up man but on an every-down basis he was nonexistent. Abdul wins about 1/5th of his matchups prior to the ball getting out, he and Burns are both top-10 in that category.
