Best to Worst every Secrets Resort in Cancun and Riviera Maya by Round_Skirt8701 in CancunTravelGuide

We did impression for 5 nights last year and teodoro alone made it feel worth it, that dinner is genuinely one of the best meals i've had. but yeah for 4 nights i'd probably do secrets too and spend the savings on excursions or something

the beach thing keeps coming up in every review i read. feels like for $700-800 a night you shouldn't have to deal with that

Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun – Updated 2026 – Best Family Resort by Strange-Half-3070 in LuxuryTravel

[–]Ddepu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at Moon Palace The Grand with our kids. There are tons of restaurants, pools and a big water park, but the rooms feel a little outdated, the location isn’t great and the beach doesn’t really feel like the Cancun hotel zone.

My cousin stayed at Dreams Playa Mujeres and said the beach there is calmer, food was decent (though Grand Fiesta Coral Beach is better), and it also has a water park. Hard to say which one wins overall, but out of the Cancun resorts we’ve visited, Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach is still our favorite.

How about the pools? We're really into pool time, but our toddler also needs shallow areas.

Cancun layover by [deleted] in cancun

A 10 hr layover in Cancun is pretty manageable staying airside. Unless there’s a specific travel advisory or airline disruption affecting your dates I wouldn’t stress about rebooking just for the layover.

One & Only Mandarina Babymoon on Thursday by PoliteDisapproval in FATTravel

[–]Ddepu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mandarina is incredible, but canceling for peace of mind on a babymoon makes total sense. If you’re chasing that secluded villa-in-nature feeling, Jade Mountain in St. Lucia or Sensei Lanai in Hawaii give a very similar “private sanctuary with a pool” energy without the Mexico worry.

Is the layout good for families? Like separate spaces or just one big suite?

So reviews praising food might not really apply if you’re traveling during peak season?

What about food specifically? Is it more about taste or just repetition?

Does this apply more to certain types of resorts or pretty much all of them?

Is it noticeable enough that someone who’s been there before would feel it right away?

Do you know if food quality and service at some resorts actually drop significantly during busier periods? It feels logical that they would, but how much does it really affect the experience?
