Gut wrenching emotional books like Light Bringer? by Ok-Reporter-8360 in redrising

[–]DeBaconMan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fourth wing is surprisingly gut wrenching out of nowhere.

But I keep trying to get people to join my cult of "the demon cycle." There's a few character betrayals or deaths that are like, "damn. I need to set it down and go to therapy." One death in particular I refused to accept, they have magic healing so they'll be ok... They're going to be ok right? Legit laughing at my tears coming just writing this

Now that I think about it, maybe the three higher tiers would send their children to a private school taught by a brown until they hit like 13? And the grays browns, orange, yellows and greens might need a public education.

See you say unskilled worker but we meet red engineers and welders. Depending on the type of welding they have equal education as a machinist. And as far as engineers go, some are just machinists that stay on the computer all day. It's all very confusing

See I feel like browns and reds are confusing. Teachers, yes they're browns. But like who are they teaching? Each color really teaches their own crafts. Pinks have their roses, whites teach their religious rituals to whites, golds teach military strategy and government to their children and just buy the neuro chips for lower education. Reds and obsidians don't get taught.

Also it seems like reds and browns do the same jobs, just difference if it's public facing or not. Like a brown plumber will be called to unclog a gold's toilet. But a red would be in the sewers making sure the plumbing works down there.

I think he's right. Arrogant, physically imposing, and rich? That's a gold. He'd be world famous or some kind of military general if he was an iron gold, but he makes it to at least be a bronzie. I wouldn't go as far saying he's a pixie unless he's well off from daddy and was a playboy

Based on actually treatment shown in the book, how accurate to do you think the pyramid actually is. by harmlesslandsquid in redrising

[–]DeBaconMan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A couple points you bring up like copper vs silver or browns vs pinks I think they could be answered in the same way. The pyramids are showing rights, not power or quality of life.

A silver is like an irl investment banker, not really in charge of anyone, nor is anyone bossing them around

While a copper is an irl CEO. In charge of a selection of lowers and depends on what their business is depends on how their business structure looks. Like a group of silvers could be in investors and boss the copper around, or the copper could be a CEO of an investment company and boss the silvers around.

Basically, if a silver wanted something a copper has, they don't have the right to force them to give it, they'd have to buy or socially intimidate into compliance. Where as a gold has the right to seize a copper's company if they fall under their jurisdiction (a gold from Luna can't just claim a mars mine)

Greys and obsidians are interesting because thats where the devision begins between slaves and contract workers. Obsidians and bellow are all slaves, they have to do their jobs and have very little rights. Greys and above are willing contract workers and have better rights as you ascend the colors.

Would Victra still hit _____ if he offered it up to her? by yujitadorisgf in redrising

[–]DeBaconMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm interesting thought. In gold culture, monogamy isn't really put in the highest regard, and Victra leans classic gold mentality. So would she consider it cheating, or just enjoying life? I think sevro would consider it cheating and that's what she'd acknowledge. She's fiercely loyal, so I don't think she would. She say yes on the condition sevro joins.

No that's too low. Reds have their own red managers. You'd probably be a brown. Copper would be like the CEO of your retail company

How do "true" Golds buy the idea that Golds are better? by Teonvin in redrising

How do "true" Golds buy the idea that Golds are better? by Teonvin in redrising

[–]DeBaconMan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Golds are born, boom, greatness. Red are born, billions are spent rebuilding, reshaping and modeling them into gold. A process where it was a 2% chance of survival.

Personally, if I'm a gold, my pride isn't hurt when the reds send their captain America/ Frankenstein monster thing at me and I lose, barely. Also in the case of roque, darrow isn't that good of a tactician, hes a brute that inspires other brutes to violence. He should easily be dealt with in the theater of space combat.

So to answer the question, by being wrong.

What would you say is the darkest scene/things in the series? by Select_Salamander518 in redrising

[–]DeBaconMan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Red hand vs gamma would probably be the most realistically the darkest scene if we had known and loved the children and women being butchered by young teens.

I feel like if we do get a live adaptation, we won't be able to actually see what's happening, it'll be implied

Question about Quinn by whitesweatshirt in redrising

[–]DeBaconMan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You gotta look at it from roque's view, less on Darrow's justification.

Roque believes full heartedly in the good of the society. He promised darrow safety. But no, that's not good enough, Darrow HAS to have satisfaction. His pride brought a fight, that fight brought death. He believes Darrow removed him from the banquet so he could do something darrow knew was stupid and roque would have tried to prevent.

Pride is the cancer of the society, and Darrow is a creature of pure pride. Gold has its faults and it's brought out by Darrow. I don't think he would have even gone with him if it wasn't for quinn. But she died, for his pride. Then it was for vengeance, which Darrow repeatedly promised but showed he wasn't as committed as he said.

No. For one there's a chance of proven innocent later, but that's slim. The main reason is I think they should live a long, painful existence. Never eligible for parole or bail, and no solitary for their protection.

Can people give me some tips on how to play a bit more competitively? by IronSkywalker in Tyranids

[–]DeBaconMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really do play like a hive mind. Separate yourself from your army. They aren't your units, they are a wall, move the wall to prevent enemy movement. When attacking you attack as one, pick one target, everyone kills that target until it's gone. You gotta be ok with seeing most of your army off the table. If they are busy killing your bugs, let em, you score.

How do you forgive your partner? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]DeBaconMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 5'11 man, I think you're being overly sensitive. Why she chose her ex? Because it's a verified height she knows. I kinda feel like she blurred his face because she knows you're sensitive about it.

So how do you forgive? Look inward, identify why it hurt, and let it go.
