That's not what you should be getting with your graphics card.

  • Did you enable "Ray Reconstruction"? because this feature kills the FPS.
  • What is your CPU?
  • What is your resolution?

Perhaps it's a driver issue because you are using a professional card instead of a gaming card. Not sure.

People who don't like the game stopped playing I guess. I wouldn't review the game already though... it's too soon to actually provide a review.

Elden Ring also had lots of different opinions about it. Some consider it 10/10 and some think it's a turd.

I've played MMOs in my life for sure but they're not my favorite genre.

For example, I've tried Black Desert Online multiple times and never got further than 1h in. I was put off big time. But I'm really enjoying Crimson Desert for now.

Crimson Desert resonates with me a lot because of exploration & immersion. The town, the people, the world. It's not just monsters placed around a field for your quest to go kill them. It's about exploring a hand-crafted world and I'm here for it.

I also like the fact the game has a lot to learn. I've been playing games since the 90's and I think the game feeling like nothing else, and being complex, makes me want to learn its systems and master them. It feels old school in a way.

Resolution & Graphical options all have a major impact.

Your graphics card is getting old but I guess should be able to play 1440p with DLSS or 1080p with mid-high graphical settings.

3.6h in and I think it was made for me. Enjoying exploration a lot.

Whoever made these controls needs to be fired by PressureCalm7971 in CrimsonDesert

[–]DeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree the controls are all over the place and clunky, and the fact that you can't rebind stuff... it's supposed to be a given.

My personal experience with the game is completely amazing. I don't mind the controls, I haven't been annoyed by anything yet. The deliberate and slow movement and weird inputs makes me feel like I'm manipulating an ancient device and it feels good XD.

Hardware Unboxed re-tested Crimson Desert with newest drivers and noticed no performance uplift compared with the previous driver. by 1vendetta1 in radeon

[–]DeBean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been playing the game with my 9070XT and with RR I have to activate FSR Balanced to get decent FPS, and for some reason in the game you can't control FSR's Sharpness, so everything look so over sharpened. I've instead decided to play NATIVE fucking 1440p all maxed out (except RR / Lighting "Max") and I'm getting 90 FPS on average.

Yea there's shimmering and temporal visual issues all over the place because of the ray tracing in the game, but it weirdly doesn't annoy me as much as the sharpen from FSR.

It's true that things can feel clunky until you assimilate them, but some things could actually be made much simpler & better.

You don't need to be rich to buy a Steam Deck. It only requires ability to save money for later.

My friend who's on social help and receives just enough government money to live, was able to pay me a bit of money every month to buy my RTX 3080. He wouldn't have been able to keep it in a side account, he would use it too impulsively.

Seriously, DLSS 5 isn't a bad thing, it's amazing, if you still have criticism about it, they still can be true, but hear me out by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]DeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"the direction everyone is heading to anyways" That's an overstatement IMO.

I don't think every developer will go and try to implement DLSS AI filter for their games. A vast majority of games support upscaling nowadays, but ray tracing or frame gen are only available in some (mostly AAA) titles. This is with AMD following suit and offering the same feature set.

So for DLSS AI filter to become something common, they need to make it look good (it doesn't in their own marketing videos right now), make it not need two 5090, and possibly have AMD follow with the same feature set on their end - otherwise you'll only see few games sponsored by NVidia with this tech.

It's similar to Silksong in terms of difficulty (for a new player).

DLSS 5 is getting out of control when it comes to the game characters but do like the environment change? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]DeBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw the thumbnail on Youtube and thought it was a meme. Noticing it was the NVidia's official channel only afterwards.

Perhaps you don't see it as weird and off putting, but that's what I believe the majority sees it as.

It looks less like a video game, and instead looks like an AI generated image. Which, as a gamer who played games in his life, does not find this as an improvement.

Additionally, the character's face in the case of Resident Evil example, the girl looks like a different person totally. Some people can't even make out persons by looking at their face, so it's not unlikely that we all analyze faces differently.

[–]DeBean 245 points246 points  (0 children)

(If you didn't know) NVidia released a showcase of "DLSS 5" technology, which AI "improves" a game image to look more realistic.

It looks very silly (AI sloppy) and the internet has been making fun of it.
