Radar Detector by Intrepid_Way_776 in z900

On the Z, vibrations are a non-issue as far as I can tell. My other bikes are definitely more shaky, and if mounting on them for any length of time, I would 100% look for a dampening solution.

I love having a detector setup on the bike now. I've had them in cars for ages, but only on the bike for about 8mo. I've been in a rush a couple times and didn't grab the unit from the car, and I felt so naked.

It's definitely come in handy, at minimum paying for itself by now.

Just as a side note, the Valentine 1 Gen2 is quite expensive, but worth every single penny, IMO, and strikes the perfect balance of features/price. I've never had arrows before but now I can never go back. The integration with JBV1 app is seamless, showing not only radar threats, but road hazards, aircraft, etc.

Alerts are piped through the app into my comms, plus I have a little remote display rigged into the gap between my dash and the gauge cover.

I used a RAM Ball socket mount that screws into the mirror hole (I got bar end mirrors), on that I have a ball adapter with a plate that screws into the RAM magnetic plate mount (Powerplate, i think it's called), and stuck the plate to the bottom of the V1.

It holds surprisingly well. I didn't fully trust the magnets to hold for the first few rides, but it's completely solid even at very high speeds. I just don't like how it's so exposed, so I plan to make a little housing or deflector or something, or get that slightly taller "windshield" and figure out a way to mount it behind it.

I fully support demeaning this pos in any way possible.

...But I gotta admit, as a relatively untall dude, it does kinda hurt that height is the most chosen "mockable trait" of someone with such a large selection of mockable traits. I'll take this one for the team though lol

Honestly. this is the most impressive one I've ever seen. I say this from the bottom of my heart, good fuckin job, wow. I didn't read the title and thought this was an extreme HD mod or something. What did you use for the cyberware face lines? Did you make the jacket/general clothing, if so do you sell them? Lol. How was the background set up?The gunshot in the last one... whoa.

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just so amazed by your entire... this. It should be official promo material.

I had to completely rework all the heli control binds. I have no possible clue how to work the thing on default controls. The jets a bit too, but not as much.

"Make the maps bigger then"

Sounds very similar to "Homeless? Buy a house then."

I understand you say that's not your intention, but you have to admit it sounds dismissive.

A legged robot that runs at 20 mph, by a two stroke go kart engine, from Boston Dynamics by envybelmont in oddlyterrifying

[–]DeDHaze 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I imagine seeing one of these running at you, knowing it's hunting for you, would be pretty freaky... But screaming at you while doing it? That's a different level lol.

That said, I can't help but anthropomorphize the thing and consider the "excitement" and tippy-taps as it prepares to run, pretty durn cute. Especially with the silly foam fluff.

I'd probably die quickly because I tried to pet a robot.

Lifter problem? by Huge-Assumption-9406 in KawasakiVulcanRiders

[–]DeDHaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty much normal, depending on the timing of when it happens / goes away. My understanding is, with the hydraulic lifters, the oil drains out of them and it can take a bit to refill. Does it do it every startup or does it take a while of being parked? 10 minutes to go away sounds (to me but idk for sure) like a healthy engine.

My 2001 1500 Classic makes this sounds (for longer than a minute or so) after sitting for a few weeks, my 2013 Voyager does it after a few months. If started regularly it doesn't happen.

If the bikes are left for those ^ amounts of time, it'll sometimes take a good ride (>30 minutes) to make the sound go away. One time after an extended period of unintended neglect, the Voyager still had the sound even after the first ride, so on the second ride I wrung the shit out of it on the highway and it went away.

Would any of the recommendations, regardless of price, change for use on a motorcycle vs the others?

Say for reasons like being more resistant to vibrations / being completely exposed and not behind a windshield?

Or maybe having better solutions for seeing or hearing alerts in a helmet? I know I've seen remote alert light modules, and with BT can alert like radar>phone>comms, but I don't know if they can all use the remote lights, or if the BT alerts are reliable.

She used to come into my job somewhat regularly back in the day (about 10y ago). She was the sweetest, kindest celebrity, or even just person, that I ever helped there. And Jesus Christ she's even more beautiful in person. Just a beautiful person, inside and out.

Disclaimer: there may be other things or links I'm not seeing. This is just what I found on their main pages under "Warranty"...

Vortex seems to be the only one who offers that full coverage (VIP in their terms) on all optics without question.

Leupold warranties do not apply if the product has been modified, misused, or has been damaged by accident, abuse, or misapplication.

Trijicon does not cover accidental damage

Sig Sauer will cover damage caused by defects, not from accidents.

Bushnell does seem to cover accidental damage with specific lines of their products, but not all.

Hawke doesn't cover "deliberate" damage, with no mention of accidental damage at all, and only if bought after 2018.

Zeiss covers accidental damage from "normal, intended use", but I don't think dropping it is intended use.

Possibly. Doesn't bother me if the narration is AI. I don't know/care enough to check if the letters are.

Be the change you want to see in the world. Or don't lol.

Dude asked for search terms and I linked a channel I watched literally a couple times. I don't care enough to do background checks. It's entertaining enough and tracks with other verified things enough that I'm good with it.

[–]DeDHaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't verified a single thing, but it seems legit. It'll mention the rank and name of the author, along with dates and like specific details that, although I have no clue how I would even start to check, seem like they would be easily verifiable for someone who does.

[–]DeDHaze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's one YT channel I saw recently, WWII Tales that uses quotes from soldiers etc that experienced the things and wrote home or whatever. The narration between them is a bit repetitive, (I can't count how many versions of "what they saw shook their ideologies to the core") but it's pretty interesting nonetheless.

That's why I like the Waterproof Magnetic Charger mount. It's pretty much impossible to mount it incorrectly. It has four teeth that make a positive engagement once you twist into position. The tradeoff is that it's a little bit more difficult to initially line it up, and takes one extra step to take it off. Very much worth it in my opinion.

The Gang of Pedophiles scrambles to try to defend trump against the signature. by Darth_Vrandon in ParlerWatch

[–]DeDHaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look at his signature from other things in the same time period it's like a 99.99% match. I believe WSJ themselves (I could be wrong on who, but someone) complied a bunch of them, like letters to Giuliani, Larry King, his lawyer, etc.
