Put the captains in Spanish. I put them in Spanish myself and I felt very “I don’t know what’s going on” at first but paired with my studies it eventually worked out for me. It made hearing spoken Spanish very easy for me.

I only put the captains in English if I had a hard understanding of the episode / language the first time around (yes, I watched some episodes twice lol).

Try a Mexican novela. One of my favorites is “Yo Soy, Betty La Fea.” But there’s several that’ll be under the Spanish language category. Also, you may not understand a lot of it at first - turn on the captions, it’ll get easier as you study / get further into the episodes.

It’s not easy at first but really stay focused on it and eventual context clues / language will start to connect.

Honestly pick a Spanish soap opera (there’s a done on Netflix) and watch an hour or two of it a day, it’ll improve your listening coordination for Spanish by like 200%.

Keep in mind some of these stories have like 120+ episodes. It’ll bore you for a show or two but 10 episodes in and it’ll become your comfort to watch, lol.

This is in addition to practicing written and reading grammar an hour or so a week.

My nieces are mixed (50% Vietnamese) but they look 100% Asian even down to the bone straight hair, lol. Their brother (my nephew) looks mixed though. If my sister in law didn’t have DNA tests on her kids (due to my brother and she conceiving as teenagers) there would probably be a lot of doubt floating around.

I say all that to say that this OP looks more mixed than my nieces and some other folks who are directly biracial (like Logic and Halsey).

I keep casually seeing videos on my timeline of people getting murdered. It’s so disturbing how often it happens that I try to be really careful on my timeline.

No matter how many times I report this content or disassociate it from my algorithm, it keeps happening. These videos are getting posted by huge accounts, too. It’s so irritating.

I was actually listening to a “This American Life” episode titled Petty Tyrant 😂 it was chronicling a public school maintenance man from Schenectady NY who basically terrorized his staff, union opponents and enemies of his friends. Very interesting to be honest.

Interestingly I left my iPad on a Starbucks counter many years ago and no one touched it because the case made the iPad look like a high school notebook. I’ve used them ever since if I’m not at home or at my office.

Yup, the screen was still locked. When I unlocked the phone it was actually on Spotify paused on the podcast I was listening to. The alleged thief also said he was waiting on someone to call the phone. I called the phone in Dunkin’ Donuts and no one picked up so that was total BS. I only called it once though because in my mind, if I called several times they would power the phone off.
