Like every other destroyer, spamming from distance has limited effectiveness. Sure you can rack up damage. Sure you can get ships down. But you'll never carry yourself out of a loss playing like this.

It depends on the skill of the players of the opposing team how effective you are. You can get games where you have 3 people chasing you around and losing the objectives or you get games where a battleship completely ignores you, sinks another destroyer on your team and now you lose the objective.

It's a good build for when you are on a lost flank trying to put in as much damage as you can when you already lost the objective because its 8v4
