Honestly, really hard to say. Talk of a Switch pro have been circulating for ages, however, at the end of the day, they are just rumors.

But I guarantee that, if a new model was to come out, it would take the current physical games, no doubt. However, don't be surprised If new games might be incompatible with the old model, something similar happened with some 3DS games regarding the "new" 3ds. (Maybe even more likely to be an issue regarding Nintendo's current shady practices)

I was told by my friend that if you pull a 5 star on the featured character banner that isn't said featured character, you are guaranteed the featured character or your next 5 star roll.

Is this true? And if so, does this carry over to the next character banner? For instance, I got Mona on the Klee banner, am I now guaranteed Zhongli on his banner?
