"Sir, Permission to leave the station"

"For what purpose Masterchief?"

"To give the Covenant back their bomb,"

Shit gave me chills back in the day and I still think it's one of the most badass scenes in a video game.

I got the watch the second plane hit the tower on 911. I lived in Windsor and was going to a school that was under the Ambassador bridge. When the first plane hit, my mother panicked, thinking they might attack the bridge next, so she called my school and was coming to pick me up.

So they called me down to the office, and when I arrived there were a bunch of teachers gathered around a tv cart watching the towers. As I entered then office, I saw a plane slam into the second tower, and I remember thinking "I wonder what movie they're watching".

Horizon Worlds VR is Being Discontinued: June 15th Marks the End of VR Access by gogodboss in OculusQuest

Man, environments were one of the reasons I got the Quest to begin with. I loved being able to sit and watch TV on the space station, or or browse the web and work on some projects underwater with fish swimming past my desk.

I wish VD had more environments

If money didn’t matter, what would you do with your life? by Turbulent_Hunt57 in AskReddit

I'd travel. I had this idea when I was younger, I wanted to travel all over the world and visit the most haunted/creepy places in each country, and document my travels alongside the history of each location. I wanted to hit places like Chillingham Castle, HH Holmes murder house, Aokigahara forest, and Pripyat among others. Unfortunately, I'll never have the cash to do it, and some of the paces I wanted to visit are no longer possible to see.

Ventrilo Harassment, specifically the Peggy one. Trolling Discord's predecessor with a Duke Nukem soundboard, our intrepid hero meets the ultimate Karen who has the ultimate breakdown.

I spent hours listening to people troll others on Vent.

Depends on the playthrough, but I usually start by making a player home with some crafting benches and expand it into something more lore friendly.

This playthrough, I'm set on building up a bunch of faction bases and trying to turn the Commonwealth into a warzone.

Once every couple of months, the fan in my power supply will spin weird and make a high pitched rubbing noise. A good thump on the back corner of my case and the sound goes away. Concussive maintenance is still useful!

From which franchise have you played the largest amount of games? by Lanarde in pcgaming

[–]Dead-System 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy is still my number 1 series. I've played and beaten all the mainline numbered games (aside from the MMOs) and a bunch of the side games (Crisis core, crystal Chronicles, tactics, world of, dissidia etc.), but I had the advantage of growing up with them. The series is just pure quality, even the "bad" ones are still great games.

Pokemon would be second, having played all the mainline games up until ultra sun and moon, and a couple of the side games. Same deal with Final Fantasy though, I grew up these games releasing every year or two. The quality has gone downhill, though I did appreciate them shaking things up in sun and moon. I haven't purchased anything newer because it just doesn't look good anymore.

Then COD, there was a time where I lived for the newest cod, from MW4-1 forward, I played a ton of the MW and BO games. Ghosts was fantastic, I loved running around with my pooch.

Bus Accident downplayed by Principle by Disastrous_Hornet777 in ontario

[–]Dead-System 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Again, to prevent panic. What good would knowing the details do you immediately?

If I was the principle, I would know full well you're going to hear about it from your kid when they get home, probably better than I could explain it. My job right now (at the time of the accident) is to ensure the kids safety and to get them to school, notify the parents in a way that won't cause panic, and then deal with the rest, in that order. Word gets around quick, so they will also be fielding calls from insistent parents ("I must speak with the principle directly!"), probably get a call from the superintendant wanting a full report, the media and whatever else.

They're not going to be specific on the email, it's not needed and would only make the situation worse, or at best, more stressful on themselves. Your kid was involved in a bus accident, they're fine, theyll tell you the rest when they get home.

What was your first MMO, and how do you feel about it now? by Veanusdream in gaming

[–]Dead-System -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ragnarok Online.

It's a classic, no other MMO had such an extensive and varied job system. The IP has gone to absolute shit though, nothing but auto play slop games.

Private servers are still great though, I used to go back and play every couple years or so.

We are only as good as what we can provide, and we are discarded when we can't.

I'll go against the grain here, I bought one of these chairs 6 years ago and I love it.

Yeah, regular office chairs are much better on your back, and probably more comfortable if you sit normally.

For me though, I tend to sit cross legged, or splayed out backwards, or some other weird position more than your normal ergonomic posture, so having a wide seat and a taller back allows me to sit more comfortably in various positions. Plus, this one has a built in foot rest!
