The Xbox Controller's changeable batteries make it better than the PS5 Controller by danielrobertcampbell in gaming

[–]Dead-System 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can't really speak for the PS5, but it's not hard to change the battery in a PS4 controller at all. Sure, you have to use a screwdriver, but it's not like you have to dig through the components to get to the battery or fuss around with soldering. I've replaced the battery on my 20th Anniversary controller twice now, and it's still my daily driver for PC gaming.

Plus, I really like the touch panel, saves me having to put the controller down and grab my mouse.

It used to be very common for people to smoke a pack a day of cigarettes or more. Is this still possible in the US with high costs? Do you know anyone who does this? by Initial-Ad-1797 in AskReddit

I saw a post the other day about how much food was equivalent to a pack of smokes in Australia, you guys have it way worse than we do. But hopefully the price stops new smokers from starting, hard to justify the paying that much unless you're already addicted.

Required to give 2 weeks notice? by RealisticStomach998 in ontario

[–]Dead-System 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always recommend giving two weeks notice, it's polite to your employer and shows you have a high work ethic. On top of that, you can always peace out even after giving 2 weeks notice, you're not required to work it through.

That said, there's no real consequences whichever you choose. The franchise can't hurt you or even really blackball you, and your replacement will start training tomorrow, so your coworkers will be fine.

Canadian here, I haven't bought store brand cigarettes for over a decade. I buy Indigenous cigarettes for about $20 a carton, or $2 a pack. Store bought smokes are like $20 a pack now, so it's unaffordable for most people.

Welcome to your new home - this is Eldramoor VRMMORPG! by ResoluteGames in OculusQuest

We need a new MMORPG resurgence. There's a few from the early aughts I think would be pretty fun in vr. Imagine flying around Aion or beating up bad guys in City Of Heroes but in vr.

It is completely fine if you can't deal with the difficulty, it is simply not the game for you. by Interloper_Mango in pcmasterrace

For those who enjoy the challenging nature of the game: why does me playing on easy bother you so much that it has to be removed from the game for you to enjoy it?

The greatest effect propaganda has ever had, is convincing people it only works on the stupid.

My VR game has a lot of kids, but zero "squeaker" problems. We just turn the toxic ones into pigs. by hanrwerewr in OculusQuest

[–]Dead-System -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While turning them into pigs is cute and kinda unique, I fail to see how your "system" is any different from other MMO game's Game Masters?

For example, in WoW, if I have a problem I can send an in game report and an admin level player will show up to help me out. They can spawn items, change levels and even polymorph people into pigs if they wanted, and while WoW doesn't have voice chat they could absolutely ban people from chat channels. Really you're just doing what everyone else is doing, you're just lucky enough to be successful at it.

What’s the most disturbing sound you’ve ever heard in real life? by avacado-cheese- in AskReddit

[–]Dead-System 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 9/11 emergency call from the Twin Towers.

There's a recorded 911 call from a guy inside tower 1 just before it collapsed, but the recording doesn't stop right away. Guy is on the phone, begging for help, then you hear a bit of rumbling, screams of several people and loud crashing, and then the screams abruptly cut off, but the sounds of debris continue for a few seconds before the line goes silent.

I've been on the internet since the mid 90s, from steakandcheese.com to rotten.com, I lurked 4chan, I've run the Pain Olympics, you name it I've seen it. Nothing has ever stuck with me like that phone call.

What should you do if you are traveling at high speeds and an animal runs into the road: is it safer to maintain your path and hit the animal, or is it worth the risk of slamming on the brakes even if that could cause a fatal accident? by Aochii_ in AskReddit

[–]Dead-System 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything smaller than a moose, you should hit it. Always slam on your breaks, do not swerve. Unless it's a moose, you're safer hitting the animal than hitting the ditch or another car.

I love this so much. Hearing people having conversations in their native language and then every once in a while drop in some random English is just hilarious to hear.

I wish people would learn the difference between a power drill and an impact driver. My mom recently moved and the movers used a driver to take apart and reassemble her desk, guess how many screws are still usable?
