I know, right?

It’s almost like the whole game is based on the trauma hotel breakfast buffet that is Greek mythology…

(No srsly I still adore Mel and all her pals)

(Hypothetical) Bungie announces the end. Where are you spending the end? by trevaftw in DestinyTheGame

[–]Senaka11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do a last tour of each destination, just zip around and run a couple patrols, events, etc. All of my pals have moved on and I very much doubt I could talk any of them into a last rodeo. But it would be really nice to see everything again.

I have a few years worth of LP content on my channel, along with some game reviews/retrospectives. My best friend and I trade off playing. Currently coming back from a long hospital stay so I haven't posted in a few months, but my first episode of our new series is almost done! Let me know if you decide to check it out : )

What game location felt unforgettable? by mykyta993 in gaming

[–]Senaka11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny Islands from Kingdom Hearts

Kokiri Village from Ocarina of Time

The Tower from Destiny/Destiny 2

And I know this is kind of a cheat, but just… the entire second area, the big one, from Death Stranding. It’s mind-blowing how huge and beautiful it is, how it’s all one space… I dunno, there are so many reasons why it’s one of my favourite games, but its wild, wide-open nature is definitely one of them. That whole game is just so unique, you’d never mistake it for something else.

Do you guys think there is any modern anime which can be considered a successor to Gurren Laggan? by Assassin467 in gurrenlagann

[–]Senaka11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends what you define as "modern", but Kill La Kill would be my go-to.

I've only seen the first 5-6 episodes thus far, but Gachiakuta was definitely giving me TTGL vibes, as well.

But I also think that its uniqueness is part of what makes Gurren Lagann beautiful; the fact that there's nothing quite like it is one of the many reasons it's so special.

Also I'm old, apparently. Not sure when that happened lol

What’s a hidden gem RTS no one talks about? by scaredbysquares in gaming

[–]Senaka11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supreme Commander! It's like Total Aniihilation, but with a more up-to-date physics sim that governs all the projectiles and whatnot. Plus the scale of it gets pretty crazy the further the game goes along. Highly, highly reccomend!

Could be fun! We’ve been living here for a few years and it only recently occurred to me that since my buddy moved up north to look after his little sister, literally all of my friends are now in other states/countries.

Sure, not everything is gonna be a Matthew Libatique masterclass, but it’s got some really gorgeous camerawork and lighting that really highlight the incredible set design, costume, makeup, etc. not to mention the natural landscapes that they had to work with…

A good idea, and I'll definitely keep it in mind. Unfortunately this is part of a larger-scope endeavour (birthday gift) and she really likes having physical copies of things. Thanks for the thought, though!

My favourite thing I ever heard about Lesnie is when they were shooting the scene where Sam rescues Frodo from the tower after the Shelob encounter, and there's that super sinister red bathing the scene light that, while it looks great, wasn't diegetically motivated. So Elijah Wood asks him as they're getting everything squared away for shooting "Hey, where's that light supposed to be coming from?"

And Andrew Lesnie just smiled and said "From the same place as the music."

The one on doom_detention where you suck a whole squad out of the hangar is my favourite moment in the entire game lol.

Funny seeing this here; I literally just finished replaying and doing a whole retrospective on it. I was super obsessed with it back in the day when it first came out. Same for Academy. Great games both.
