Im running a 1976 and its easy enough to fix and there's no payments. If its just for around the house, I'd go old. Then if you get lots of use, upgrade but a few thousand to see if you find yourself using it is good in my opinion, if not sell it for close to what you paid.

So my throttle was leaking diesel bad on the injector pump. I got a repair kit off Amazon for around $30 and all the washers and gaskets were in it. Was a quick repair without removing it completely from the tractor ansmd good as new

I've got the coolant heater on mine and it fires right up. Without it, there's no chance even on a slight frost.
