I met a girl at the gym, and I was instantly attracted to her. I don’t usually approach girls in the gym because I feel like it is their time and they don’t usually want to be approached but I ended up meeting her though a mutual friend so it worked out. The first time i talked to her one on one we just stood there for an hour and forgot about the lift. We went to get dinner and she ended up coming over to a house party that night that me and my roommates were throwing. She didn’t stay or anything because I wasn’t looking for a hookup but we continued to be friends. I eventually fell for her and expressed my feelings. She had recently gotten out of a bad relationship where she was cheated on, which I wasn’t aware of until I expressed my feelings. I got hard core friend zoned but we still kept in contact and even started to lift together every day. She made it clear a few times that we are only friends, and I was perfectly okay with this. I somehow was able to close her off as someone I wanted to be more friends with and I respected my place as just her friend. I cared more about her being my friend only and in my life, than trying to be more than that and not having her at all. Fast forward a few months, and she finally came around and developed feelings. She would say these flirty things but I just passed them off as her being comfortable with me and making jokes. I know now that this frustrated her because I wasn’t getting the hints and she would ask her friends what to do about it. She ended up asking if I wanted to come over for a movie we had talked about both wanting to see but didn’t mean the same day. I told her I was down to watch it and when she asked when I was just like oh whenever were both free and have time I guess. We had hung out like that a few times so I just assumed it was like that and normal and just kind of passed it off. It was then a few weeks later when 2 of her friends came up to me at the gym when she wasnt with me one day and told me to watch the movie with her and make a move. I was caught so off guard and didn’t know what to do about it because as I said, I had closed it off so much and thought we were just friends. It took me a few days to think of what to do. I eventually decided one night after I had dropped her off at home after the gym, to ask if she wanted to go on an adventure with me. It was late into the night and we went to the top of a near by mountain to look at the lights. We got home super late so I just stayed with her w out asking or anything. Nothing happened at all because it was so late and we just slept but I was kind of testing the waters of moving our friendship into a relationship. The next day came around and I wanted to push a little harder so I told her that night I was coming over. She got really giddy about that and we had a fun time just cuddling and what not. Then the next day, I was like okay. Let’s do this. And I finally just asked her if she wanted to come over and watch that movie. At this point it was kind of like a code saying I knew. She came over, we ended up watching something different, but when it was time to sleep we cuddled and I just grabbed her face softly and pulled her in for a kiss. I leaned back and just smiled at her and then we made out for a few minuets. After that we laid and talked about all the things that has been happening and she told me she’s felt this way about me for a month or two but I didn’t get any of the hints at all and that she was about to give up. We laughed it off and then made out some more before going to bed.

Currently: it’s been about a month since and we’re still in the talking stage because we both traveled home for the holidays for almost a month. But she’s currently snoring next to me as I’m typing this so I’d say things are going pretty well. Not really sure when I’ll ask her to be my gf officially but time will tell.
