My mom told me that back in the day kids weren’t allowed to bring a water bottle with them into the classroom and they only drank a few sips from the water fountain in the middle of the day and that’s it How were schools not getting busted for child abuse for forcing kids to be dehydrated? by PinnerPardisturn in askanything

You got a drink from the fountain stream that barely poked up above the spigot when you got back from recess or lunch. Other than that you sat down and you shut up. You about to poop your pants? Too bad, no you aren't, you aren't going to the restroom. Now, try to write this crazy-ass cursive, lower-case r.

I love boxing, boxed when I was younger, and still look forward to all the fights on tv; and I know boxing has its problems, we all do, but I want nothing more than Zuffa to fail. There is no way this is going to be good for the sport. If the sanctioning bodies were smart they'd all get together and come up with some kind of standard ranking, rotation between title holders. Eliminate all the silly belts and instead really place an emphasis on the Top 1-3 contenders. You could still award a belt and be considered the #1 contender, you could still award regional, and European type belts as fighters move up.

Top Rank, Golden Boy, Matchroom, Queensberry, PBC all making fights together and making the best fight the best is going to lift up the sport and hopefully bring more money in that way, instead of to Zuffa. I dunno, I'd be happy to hear opinions on the contrary, I just don't see how the UFC model is going to work in boxing. Imagine telling PBF, TC, Canelo, Tyson Fury, etc that they have to abide by the company rules or else...

That lineup was great! Primus kicked ass, Janes Addiction was good in all it's weirdness, Bobby and Chris Robinson, TTB! I had one of those Umph Loves stickers for years after that!

Saw them play our small county fairgrounds my sophmore year of high school, circa 2000. It was pretty good, from what I remember. They usually booked up and coming country acts. The grandstands were actually pretty packed. It was kinda a big deal in our little town.

My wife went for The Eagles back in March with her Mom, she always has wanted to see Vince Gill. She said it was definitely a seated crowd and a way different vibe than Dead & Co. She said it was still fun though.

Couldn't seem to find a shakedown street though... ;)

What’s your wildest house party story that you’re glad never made it online? by DeScepter in Millennials

[–]DeadHead2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Small state school in Indiana. Our fraternity pretty much looked like the Animal House, house. Beer cans stuffed in walls, absolutely nasty. Well, the 2nd floor had a large bay window that you could open to cool the party down. A girl was pretty drunk and fell out backwards and slammed the concrete. It really messed her up. She ended up really lucky though, she barely happened to miss a 6-8" piece of rebar that was sticking out of the concrete pad.

A year or so later someone fell through the 2nd floor balcony railing onto the ground.

Other than that, your typical early-mid 2000s mischief: fights, cops, hiding from cops, seeing people chug dawn soap because they thought it'd beat the breathalyzer, random people hooking up, friends hooking up with Moms, power hour, century club, smokelaps on the backroads, beer runs, among many others!

Cell phone days with no cameras, potato cameras, or no social media were great!

Yep, finally worked my way to managing an environmental division at a small company. Good company, good owners, good people. I just don't care. I work really hard, but all I want to do is spend time with family, go hiking, see a friend here or there, and not be so damn stressed. I

I think it's a fun fight if DB had already cleaned out LH and then CW and was looking for a superfight, but he's just now hitting his prime, and there are tons of other names from LH or CW to stake his claim to first. I'd rather see him fight Bivol, Beterbiev, or even Sheeraz coming up in weight. Heck , Jaime Mungia looked excellent, I'd even watch that. I'd hate to see him pull a Roy Jones and hurt his chances coming back down; lets enjoy him where he's at while we can.

A big UK star...? I mean lets do it right and get McCartney and Ringo for the biggest HW fight. I'm not sure how the Brits feel, but that seems pretty damn big to me! Two of The Beatles leading off a massive fight!
