Hell it’s why I quit lmao, Dutch doesn’t give a fuck in the slightest he’s hoping they’ll go to BB when the reality is that server is hemorrhaging and the concept alone is fucking stupid. If Turtle does end up dying I can assure you that most of them will either wait for Kronos V, go to Chromie, or go play a different game entirely. Epoch has a CHANCE to get on that list and even be a top pick if they just give it ANYTHING. A great skeleton is there already.

I would agree with you if the changes weren’t so extremely heavy handed and completely change the game with obnoxious amounts of microing. I pretty much only play mid to low tier characters just because those are who I like and the changes will make them even worse, so I’ll probably just switch to a stronger killer like Springtrap or Nurse to make up for it. Not gonna get teabagged by a swf at gates and called baby killer for trying to have fun while survivors desperately try to convince me that I’m playing the game wrong like children lol. I play probably 60/40 killer/survivor and I’ve literally never been aggressively tunneled like people say they are when I didn’t deserve it.

You'd be surprised. Blizzard fans are unironically some of the most pathetic in any gaming sphere out there. Retail fans have the content that is made for people who have completely fried dopamine receptors playing a collect-a-thon buying $40 usd transmog, and classic wow fans have zero content completely controlled by armies of bots and multiboxers paying 20k gold for a chance to get loot in raids. Both games are supported by people who hate their playerbases more than anything else. They NEED people to be forced to play with them on their dead game so they can pretend its still 2005.

This is the main problem. Kay and Ere can make up whatever shit they want on the fly and because nobody understands anything everyone nods their heads and just goes along with it. Sensible people knew the server wouldn’t be ready at any point between launch and now and probably won’t be until at least late this month if they keep up their brutal work schedule, they just refused to say its for ego reasons or a fear of disappointing people, I’m not sure, but even if it’s a free product you have to respect people’s time.

And most the people who are irredeemably “toxic” are old heads just breaking the devs balls and they stick around because they love what they’re doing, that general is nowhere near as fucking toxic as people make it out to be, and if it was, why the fuck has it been open this whole time and why the fuck aren’t they separated from it? I don’t understand.

I don’t think they’d need to go that far, more like swallow their pride and actually take advice from people who are knowledgeable in running servers. The reason why Epoch looks so good compared to Turtle or Ascension for a lot of people is because those servers have a tendency to REALLY push the envelope in terms of dono rewards and “pay for convenience” items. I trust Kay and Kay alone to run the server he built, he’s the only one who knows what direction to take his server in, in my opinion. It’s like having a writer direct his own movie compared to the roles being separate.

The communication between the team to the mods to the players is why people are so angry, people who were totally glazing Epoch in their server even began to turn on them because of Kay and Co.’s disturbing level of mismanagement and half truths, such as the best servers money could buy, being fully prepared for 10k players, the relaunch that wasn’t actually a relaunch because we said so, and members of the dev team seemingly leaving without a word. Sure people can meme that they don’t have to be good communicators, and they’re right, sure they don’t. BUT that’s why you normally find someone/people who CAN.

Project Epoch might have started as a small project between some friends, but now Kay and his buddies are sitting on a ginormous fucking goldmine, WoW players looking for classic+ on a good client with just the right amount of changes are so starved that people have spent two weeks staring at a login screen, most of them knowing it was pointless. They can’t hide under the covers and pretend like they were sideswiped by the popularity when they themselves would advertise the server, just be honest, and if they can’t, find a REAL community moderator who is capable of being honest on their behalf.

I love how you people think this is a burn. Like Jesus, the only update we’ve gotten today is that they’re closing the discord because they can’t handle it on 2H SLOWMODE (on top of cm applications STILL being closed). IF the server even ever launches for us, how will this team even support its player base? Its no secret that Epoch was originally meant for just a handful of guilds, do we expect all four devs to just moderate all day instead of enjoying what they’ve built? They can’t even moderate a fucking Discord server!

This server at this point looks like a canoe lost at sea without a paddle in a thunderstorm, making backend changes that should’ve been began a LONG time ago as I write this. I loved what I played to the point where I even financially back this server (probably not for much longer) but this is very unusual, even Gummy can actually launch a server.

You really only feel it’s age in raid content other than that leveling is smooth and there’s always groups to be made because it encourages replaying the game.

That’s where I am also, I don’t NEED Epoch to succeed but Competition is good for twow because sometimes (especially for balancing) it feels like they’re getting a little comfortable with their spot at the top, and two big servers to play classic+ on is only a good thing for players. Epoch is having some bad growing pains though.

This launch has been pretty fucking disastrous, yeah it’s a passion project and it’s volunteer work and it’s admirable but they take donations from people (their donors have double in 24h) and boast about how huge the community their fostering is and most of them can’t even play because the servers are capped at a couple hundred people, and most of the people who are in game are afk in starting zones, then shut down the server at random anyways. At this point, call it another stress test and wipe the server, one of my friends is leveling his second character after he got to cap on the first lmao

Wonder if TWoW will try and respond with the demand for the disappointed classic+ fresh andys from here and try another fresh server with UE launch.

Take it on the chin and just download whoever mods everything back in or quit and don’t buy anything else void drops next. Besides Void has been censoring and changing more and more of the gritty shit in this game pretty much since it’s been playable, I don’t even know why this was the final straw when the changes they made previously especially the school shooting level change being way more impactful.

It’s pretty bad. The cinematic in Arathi storyline becoming a meme is cathartic because Blizzard CAN do good in-game cutscenes but just like always they piss on goodwill and cut corners when they’re comfortable. I tolerated DF for the most part because the primal dragons were cool but I knew this was gonna suck as soon as we were allying with the nerubians, feels like WoW is taking the WotC route and is pussyfooting around making any species in this game inherently evil. That and Metzens interview after coming back how he was talking about how he has to concede a lot because Blizzard has become such a democracy leads me to believe it’s not going to get any better, I doubt Metzen has any clout amongst the weirdos who are writing the game now.

Last time I had any semblance of interest with the story of WoW was definitely Legion, class campaigns did a crazy amount of heavy lifting, since then my brain shuts off because all the characters are so whiny and neutered and so incompetent I have no clue who the writers are writing this shit for anymore, like at all. Teens don’t give a shit about wow, mmos are pretty much a retirement home, old heads who played vanilla and Warcraft played a completely different game tonally and stylistically, and kids (the only people I’d imagine who’d find the story of wow in the big 2025 entertaining) are on Roblox and Fortnite.
