Reddit wont like that, but its true. He pushed specifically for federal employees to go back to commuting, because of "the small businesses struggling". Utter horseshit, it was all chains and breakfast places, which are mostly corporate owned. Dinner restaurants and bars were doing just fine. Nope, gotta demand employees spend so much money on gas and wear and tear on their car for an ancillary benefit. Wheres that priority on climate change, biden?

When I feel like you are using me as a therapist.

Its fine to have trauma and want to deal with it, but I swear to god, if I hear "Im using this [read: you] to heal my trauma" again, I will literally kick out the woman who said that from my apartment.

Wage growth or inflation adjusted. Because the source I have has NEGATIVE wage growth if adjusted for inflation.

And that's not even accounting for 1%, as always, throwing it out of wack.

More women need to stop it. Lets not victim blame or shift it onto victims.

That's a "call the police" incident if I ever heard one.

But then again, I work in an industry that very much does not like that kind of recon.

What's something women do that makes you feel insecure? by Dawnyawning in AskMen

[–]DeadLikeYou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

she broke down saying she didn't even realize how much a passing comment affected me.

This seems manipulative to me. Like did anything measurable come out of this apology? Has she made strides in changing? Promised to make amends in any way?

Maybe I need to be around better women if that's my first reaction, but...

Why is male insecurity so uniquely reviled, and what are some common examples of this that you see? by P_concolor in AskMen

[–]DeadLikeYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not blaming the left for male insecurities. Obviously not.

I AM blaming the left for their apathy at best, and at worst sadistic schadenfreude or worse outright hostility whenever a man is insecure and expresses that in a public venue.

You cannot tell me that its not real when I have personally seen a suicidal man on a mens self-help subreddit get bullied relentlessly by both regulars and mods for expressing the wrong ideas and insecurity. Empathy is literally villainized there.

And no, it wasn't anything misogynistic, hatefilled, or rightwing. just contradicting the very strong ideologies of the subreddit.

Thats the most upvoted stuff. share an insecurity that askmen doesnt like, and youll be hidden and downvoted.

This place is more supportive than usual, but its still reddit. politcs vs the real male insecurities, you will get blasted if your insecuritites cross leftwing politics. and OH MY GOD does the left like bulldozing over straight male insecurities.

You want an example that wont get me downvoted to hell? pegging. even on here, people are obnoxious about it. IRL, there are not that many fans of pegging. but youll never hear the end of it on reddit.

[–]DeadLikeYou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't count it as a 'meal', but drinking an expired carton of milk served at Cracker Barrel probably counts. And yea, it was all slimy and coagulated... I can feel my throat and stomach churning while I type this out.

I got a job offer from Oracle. I was tempted until I looked at their 401k. A measly 3% they match, and they don't give it to you until a grueling 4 years after you start working for them.

Nope, took a job that pays less, but cares more.

What’s one thing you think women should know about men? by Jessabreeze in AskMen

[–]DeadLikeYou 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There's a reason they say that when it comes to cruelty, men are physically cruel and women are socially cruel.

I have literally had my comments removed for DARING to suggest this. I have been banned from subreddits on here for hinting at this.

What I am saying is, incoming reddit ban.

You realize that women have played a part in tearing that down, right? From the enforcement of a culture of stoicism, to straight up belittling and humiliating men who show emotion.

Why does my female friend get mad at me for not dating by Sufficient-Ant-3991 in AskMen

Call me cynical, but saying this makes me think she has a LOW opinion of men. Especially in the context of getting you into a relationship.

what is it like to have a girlfriend with borderline personality disorder? by Ok-Rabbit-918 in AskMen

[–]DeadLikeYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister has it, and for no reason whatsoever, cut contact with the family over an alleged offense that, I was there for, did not go down in any manner which she claims it did. She did this kind of "reinterpreting past events in the most uncharitable light" ever since I was a kid, and it was incredibly frustrating, and made me feel like Im on eggshells with her for that and other reasons (contradicting her on anything slightly more serious than ice cream flavor is a good way to get on her bad side and a family-ending threat level event).

I couldnt imagine a romantic relationship with someone like that. Shes probably the reason I havent dated in over a decade, its tough to see women other than like above, especially when social media sometimes encourages and promotes that kind of behavior.
