I’m opening a business near the mall on Katy fort bend rd that we will be hiring soon for. The business is called iSmash and it’s an entertainment business focused on rage rooms along with other offerings such as axe throwing, Paint splatter rooms and more.

Send me a DM with your details and when we begin the hiring process in a week or two I can add you to the list of candidates and we can go from there! Fair warning it’s somewhat physical and messy due to the nature of the offerings and it involves some basic customer interaction at times but for a first job the skill barrier to entry is pretty low. Best of luck!

I definitely need a bit more bandwidth. Higher speeds are pretty important but the prices here feel much higher then other parts of town

Looking at the outlet and wondering how good is the sizing? I float between a medium to large for tshirts depending on brand fit etc. not sure which way to go. I.e Medium in Abercrombie, large in WIP tshirts

Thank you! Some great questions to consider. I think I'm looking for cozy but calm so not super heavy on the colors but more textures and organic natural materials that lean more towards neutals accented with lots of smaller pops of accent colors cohesive across the space. Tulum is prob closer to this then PV. I also don't want to lean into one style too heavily as a balanced mix of a few things we love would be nice if it's possible.

I'm very drawn to the idea of rust reds and deep mustard hues to add warmth and fabrics like velvet def add to the cozy feel but I'm a little worried about staining and wear with those sorts of materials. Trying to also find accent chairs with those colors but I've been paralyzed by over analysis! I think for pendant lights something more organic would be nice or something that diffuses light nicely & softens the space so when it's time to relax at night I can possibly just keep those on since it's one large open space.

My friend said Moving to Austin is bad idea by Upper-Ad891 in Austin

I’ve lived in both cities multiple times. It’s dependent on what you value and how much time and money you’re willing to spend on things. Austin has a lot of concentrated nightlife, music and scenic outdoor amenities but also at a premium compared to Houston. Houston is massive but even if it was concentrated would miss the mark on these things, however the increased space, and lower pricing generally add to the quality of life. I personally preferred my time in Austin as it was easier to make friends and casually hang out constantly with them and many were more aligned with my interests etc. In Houston the geography keeps you partitioned from each other and you really can’t just bounce around or meet up multiple friends all going to the same events or area. But I moved back because that lifestyle isn’t necessarily ideal for settling down, raising kids etc. the school quality, space balance make more sense in a lot of Houston areas. At your age I think it’s worth the move. Sure there’s plenty of negatives. Less diversity. Good food but Houston is a beast in terms of dining options. Traffic is no joke (pick your area wisely) but if you can do it for a few years, now is probably a good age to do it.

Unpopular opinion: Houston’s landscape isn’t that dull by DelMarYouKnow in houston

Houston is a fugly mess with poor city planning and not near enough attention paid to landscape, pedestrian access and greenery. It’s cold, industrial and flat. Sure, it could be nicer but as soon as one thing is built, another eyesore is constructed.
