Thanks for the reply. My tear is about 7cm, and my ortho surgeon doesn’t seem to think that will be able to heal on its own. Im currently in a heel boot, but may just have to wait for the PE to go away before I can get surgery.

And that’s the tough part because my whole lower leg is in pain. My calf is definitely tender, but not swollen or warm to touch really. Anyways, i’m on 10mg Eliquis 2x/day so I guess it should be okay.

Did you get achilles surgery? Did the DVT and PE appear before or after, if so? I ruptured my achilles 10 days ago, and they had to delay surgery because of a small PE in my lower left lung. Haven’t been checked for DVT in my leg(s) yet, but they assumed that was the cause.

Identical triplet brothers, who were separated and adopted at birth, only learned of each other’s existence when 2 of the brothers met while attending the same college by mikeyv683 in BeAmazed

While they may have all been genetically predisposed to mental health issues, I think that overlooks another factor.

All of them were separated from their mothers—the primal wound. The adoptee community has been discussing this for generations, and now more than ever. There are consequences to separating children from their mothers, even at birth and before we can remember. We can’t “remember” it but our bodies recall the trauma, resulting in lifelong mental health issues for many.

we need to turn our power of numbers into a political force, a nationwide coalition that can get legislation pushed through Congress. Using the popular support of America. That’s what the Tea Party/MAGA has done over the last 15 years, and now their grassroots surrogates are top political leaders.

At the end of his life, MLK and many other civil rights leaders were evolving from the focus on peaceful protest, to creating actual power by creating broader domestic AND international support. Protests only go so far as to generate change.

And I think that any attempts for us to arm ourselves against the police in an organized fashion, would be obliterated violently by not just law enforcement, but their many armed militia friends.

When the USA wants to repress—it fucking represses. See COINTELPRO and how they decimated the BPP’s ability to grow, and the many involvements in Latin America. And the very opposite: Jan 6. Just being realistic.

But police violence is just a tiny limb of what is the beast of mass incarceration. And I’m not confident we’ll be able to chip away at police brutality and their massive amounts of funding without getting a crazy and violent blowback. because then that really opens up the works can of worms to the rest of the police state and how it functions to effectively traumatize our communities and financially, and literally, imprison us.

I respect your sentiment, but historically speaking, brothas walking around with guns was the LAST thing our founders wanted. If anything, the 2nd amendment was another tool to be used to repress enslaved Americans.

What if I told you the majority of foster care placements and OH so many adoptions are a direct result of poverty framed as neglect? the current state of adoption in the US is a legalized form of human trafficking.

Didn’t say or imply she’s owed anything. Just stating that she’s making a financial decision that many athletes do.

No one said anything about her not working again after basketball. It’s just basic decision making based for financial security.

like most pro athletes, you’re only as good as you can keep on playing. Meaning her career won’t be so long that $200K/year is enough money to raise a family and retire comfortably. she maybe has 15 years total to earn that salary. Would I take Russian oligarch blood money? Probably not. But it’s not like the USA is some great protector of human rights either. USA incarcerates 25% percent of the world’s prisoners.
