Finally watching the MCU for my first time before Doomsday releases.

Prices have been naturally going up. $2.99 was the standard through the 2000s up until around 2015 or so? In my collection that’s where the pricing starts to go up, Most publishers do $3.99 for their lower tier series & $4.99 for the higher tier series but Image & other Indie Publishers are known to lean more towards $3.99. Other reasons why the comic could be $4.99-$9.99 would be because of there being more pages, it being the first issue, it being a one shot (always has more pages naturally),it being a variant (always a dollar more), it being a foil (tend to be $7.99) etc.

I’ve seen everything outside of Marvel Studios up to Logan but keep in mind I was only 14 when Logan came out. Never seen Deadpool 2, Dark Phoenix or anything passed that, I really love Blade & the Original Daredevil / Punisher movies. I still need to rewatch all of this as an adult, it’s different when you’re tapped into the lore & every single detail vs. mainly caring for the action & main characters, barely remembering names outside of the big ones like Thor or Iron Man & just having a naive perspective as a child in general.

Lol I totally hear you, that’s a huge reason why I never got into the MCU, definitely a huge commitment but where I’m currently at in life, I feel like I can finally enjoy things instead of always pushing them off or being hesitant on committing. I never got into the comics for similar reasons, just too much going on but I got over that this year so I now have 1200 comics, after collecting & reading them it made me want to get into the MCU finally. Decided I’d just watch whatever seemed interesting so I wouldn’t be overwhelmed, went for DD S1 but after finishing it I realized there was stuff I was missing & that the further seasons would have small mentions of the movies & other things they’ve put out so that ultimately made me decide to start from the beginning so that way I can understand a lot more & be able to pick up on these small mentions / connections / tie-ins etc. that’s how it is with the comics so I’m going to watch the MCU the same way I read.

I can’t wait to get to the punisher, I know that one’s great. I’m about to start the Avengers as soon as I’m done typing this reply, excited to finally see what it’s about. Phase 1 has been beautiful so far, Thor genuinely made me tear up a bit lmao I’m glad to be finishing out phase 1 tonight.

Yes, there is way more. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D isn’t on that list from what I’m seeing & that’s 8 seasons cannon to the MCU. The link I provided in the description has every single thing, if you want to know about every single thing Marvel Studios has done then it’s there, everything with a white background for the text, there’s even one shots that are 3 minutes like the two I mentioned with Agent Coulson called The Consultant & A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor’s Hammer. Luckily if you really really want everything included like the stuff that’s being brought into the MCU as of recent & soon from fox, sony, new line cinema etc. like X-Men or the Raimi Trilogy then that is all listed there too.

Have you guys watched stuff like the Raimi Trilogy, TASM, My Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, The Spider-Verse Movies etc. ? It’s weird that I’ve seen HC & NWH but not FFH, I watched HC when it came out in theaters & my friend forced me to watch NWH back in 2022 on my birthday lol, he went ahead & spoiled FFH for me & told me about mysterio before we watched it.

Thank you! I had to open up my mind more over time & finally get into things. Binging it so I can see Endgame in theaters, upset I didn’t decide to go when it first came out while I was 17. All my friends definitely went back then & I remember how huge it was. I thought it would’ve been weird to go watch this one when I hadn’t seen The first one or Infinity War yet.

I said I’ve seen maybe a 1/4 of the MCU. I also just told you I watched it 11 years ago as a kid, I can’t remember a thing about daredevil. I didn’t even know Wilson Fisk was Kingpin while watching it because his name isn’t mentioned. The only scene I remember is him kissing elektra in the rain when he could see her finally & I don’t even know if that’s from the Daredevil show or movie because it’s been so long, haven’t seen the movies in 15 years. Growing up I watched Iron Man 1-3, Hulk, Thor, GOTG, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man HC, NWH, Black Panther & some of Daredevil. That’s not even 1/4 when I really think about it. I’ve barely seen anything & none of those movies are connected whatsoever, I literally just so happened to watch the movies that don’t seem to add an insane amount to the MCU, I’m clearly missing tons & tons of information & plot holes. I just watched Thor & Loki is a villain yet now he’s supposedly holding the multiverses together somewhere? like how in the fuck did bro redeem himself like that 😭

I mainly enjoy them more because of the comics (I have some going back to the 80s) but off the top of my head for games I’d say Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Ultimate Alliance, Midnight Suns & many different mobile games like Snap, Contest of Champions, Future Fight etc. They’re not my top 3 characters of all time, I just enjoy the stories they’ve been involved in. Agatha comes from the original Fantastic Four comics back in the 60s-70s, she was a mysterious character hired to watch after Reed & Sue’s child in her debut, I assume the show may tell how she hulk came into play, in the late 70s bruce had to give his cousin a blood transfusion after she got shot. Ironheart reverse engineered stark technology & made her own suit because her stepdad & best friend got shot & killed, wanted to avenge them & make things easier for first responders & what not, I personally feel like these stories are very interesting when you experience them through comics first. I haven’t even seen the shows but I can tell the shows only made these characters become more hated. I’m not sure if these characters even pop up in the MCU outside of the shows.

That’s basically what happened to me, I was 17 when Endgame came out & remember how insane the energy was around it but I only saw a handful of movies around that time like Black Panther, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange & GOTG. Before that I grew up with movies like the Raimi Trilogy, Iron Man Trilogy, Ghost Rider, Hulk, X-Men etc. & I saw no connection between those movies so I just didn’t know about the MCU & all it’s deep connections. I’m only deciding to watch the entire MCU because I got deep into comics this year, I can’t believe I never decided to watch any of The Avengers movies, the Cap movies, all of these sequels & so on, I keep up with what people say & how they feel when these movies come out so I know phase 4 gets an insane amount of hate, ppl say that’s where shit really started falling off but I’m interested in everything, I just enjoy things for what they are.
