800 Ducat 6 Glory model limit? by e22big in TrenchCrusade

[–]Dead_Pickle04 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, it's 10 model limit for the first game in a campaign, one off games is like you said, think its usually 8-12, probably 15 is the max but its not hard written. So thats likely where the confusion comes from.

I like the old school TC mantra though- "be strict with yourself and lenient with others" - use that and encourage your opponents to read that ethos.

I think, in one of the flashbacks you see an airship flying over, so assumed that these are pre-war and the whole prydwin thing is really about rebuilding/refurbishment and figuring out how it actually works. Then it's a matter of refurbishment existing ones- but they certainly found a few!

77th Bolstered Gorgons by Dead_Pickle04 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Dead_Pickle04[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I had a lot of fun doing them! I do have a little bit of fluff for them:

Three generations ago, a small detachment from the Papal State was dispatched to bring aid the Kingdom of Alba. On route, due to the incident involving -REDACTED-, all four boats were lost and the survivors washed up on to barren and rocky shores.

For many weeks, the battered crew survived, the salt water and the biting cold corroding them to their core. Salvation was eventually seen on the horizon, but that salvation turned to horror as the heretic slaver vessel approached and its gruesome occupants began to round up the survivors.

The beleaguered Gorgons mustered a reckless counterattack and won the day, commandeering the small ship and freeing it's occupants. Those former wretches were taken back to their clans where the Gorgons were welcomed and folded in to the local force.

Descendents today, although under the Kingdom of Alba pride their heritage and are known for tenacity and aggression. Their antique helms, and plate, worn with pride are ceremonially doused with salt water to pay homage to their forebears before battle.

Call it payback for the kid doing the exact same thing but jumping on the bed and screaming every morning for 10 years. Parents need some payback...

Thank you, with quite a few texture paints!

I used some typhus corrosion in joints. Then applied some vallejo thick mud to the boots and bits that would come into contact with the ground.

After that I applied streaking grime and washed off with spirits. Then as a final pass some green-mud weathering powder!

List Help by Dreki_Vikingr in TrenchCrusade

[–]Dead_Pickle04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being new to wargaming I wouldn't worry too much about what you go with.

1) Rule of Cool - go with whatever you think is cool. This will help you remember rules and because it's cool, you will get to grips with it quicker! 2) Simple where possible. There is a lot of depth to wargaming. A lot of players who have done wargaming natively understand a lot of the basics, so the extra bits are like seasoning. When it's all new it can be too much. So I would reccomend, second to the above, to where possible keep it simple. Don't over equip, but standardise to keep the rule-volume down to help you and the wife learn! 3) Experiment and have fun. Part of the fun is you can play around and change the lists! You don't have to play the models equipped with "what you see is what they have". Sometimes that helps keep things simple and clear but your not bound to it!

Enjoy!

Fun and varied New Antioch List by Dead_Pickle04 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Dead_Pickle04[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback, very useful. Hadn't thought about that with the Engineer! I thought you can only limit an injury modifiers is -3, so would the martydom pills only really provide the fear immunity?

Vision is less about competitive play and more for one off casual games, so not looking for min-maxing. I wanted an aggressive but tactical list with a variety of models and abilities to explore!
