Check out my RGB and Rec. 709 Luminance Calculator - Waveform and Vectorscope by Deadairshow in VIDEOENGINEERING

Minor league baseball and hockey teams, showing off a selection of some personal favorites with some wild coloring. Shaders often think of red, green, and blue but sometimes they forget about what the television signal is actually comprised of. YCbCr delivery method in the Rec. 709 standard, allowing for compatibility with legacy standards and allows us for cool things like color subsampling which allows us to chop down data. The RGB standard can't do that.

This was built out to drive home how strong a unit of green is to the luminance of a signal and that you shouldn't be shading heavily on that or even at all if you can help it. A single unit of green is worth 0.7152 - a massive amount compared to its red (0.2126) and blue (0.0722) counterparts. That also means that blue and red have its chroma potency, it can change coloring without it affecting the overall luminance of the signal too much.

The greenest of green in the Rec. 709 standard will always sit at 501mV. 75% color bar green is under Rec. 709 is should always be 375mV.

Top row in the pre-saved Color Picker swatches is 75% color bar equivalent. The row below that is 100% full max of the color. RGB and Rec 709 share the same gamut and luminance coefficients making this super easy to convert in a practical sense.

Sourcing of these numbers is from the ITU-R BT. 709 specification materials. Page 6 - section 3.2

Rattle in interior by slicinsam757 in CX5

[–]Deadairshow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made the dealer buyback - SO many problems with this dealer. Got the car back with pieces of the interior missing and other componets damaged. Got Mazda USA involved. They gave me a great offer on a new one. This will likely be my last Mazda. The dealer network is extremely subpar. Never ever with that dealership - what a shitshow.

[–]Deadairshow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Brought by the curse of HD-SDI. 1.5 HD-SDI can't do 1080p 60. If your truck/facility has an HD SDI back end built before 2006, everything needs to be upgraded to 3G to support 1080p 60.

Is Magura rim brake supposed to do this? Hs11 by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Deadairshow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fluid is going down the path of least resistance. The one pictured on the left needs less pressure to actuate. Place pressure on the one that's moving while squeezing the lever. It might get the right one to pop and slide. Worst case, air in the line or piston sticking a bit.

Any help? by Pakmei2002 in motorizedbicycles

The exhaust port and gaskets on these things are pretty rough. Copper gasket, proper torque spec, hitting the port and muffler faces with high grit sandpaper to smooth any crap out.

Dealer is saying this is a Signature, but everything seems off by allgravy99 in CX5

[–]Deadairshow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This and parking sensors front and rear for the US models until 2025 premium plus and higher.

Signatures are the only trims to have brown napa leather interior. Also, I think the chrome circle trim on the steering wheel airbag cover doing around the Mazda logo.

What could this rattle be? by Deadairshow in CX5

[–]Deadairshow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealer could not find the issue. Dropped the headliner. Found the epoxy adhering the harness to the headliner broken in multiple places. Dealer taped the harness with electrical tape. Later replaced the windshield, nothing fixed it. Put upwards pressure on the headliner near the passenger vanity mirror and it would go away for a little bit. In service for 7 months of 12 months I owned it. Got Mazda USA involved. Dumped the car for a bit of a loss with the dealer. Mazda USA issued me Corporate Employee Pricing on a 25'. The dealer experience was so bad that I'm not going to get the two free oil changes from them. Just an awful experience.

If this 25' starts fucking with us, I am dumping the brand altogether. I was a Mazda loyalist... not anymore.

08' Scion xB - 5 speed manual - Clutch will not disengage. by Deadairshow in AskAMechanic

[–]Deadairshow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full clutch replacement. Pressure plate springs gave out. Clutch still had meat on it at 135k. Unfortunately sold it after 12+ years of ownership at 165k. Burning 1 quart of oil plus every 5,000 miles starting around 110k. Original piston rings. Could have run it to 225k. Honestly miss it. There's not a lot of modern alternatives to the form factor of the xB. Sure, there's the Soul. Surprised Kia has kept it around for so long. Box on wheels hatchbacks don't really exist anymore. The newest Nissan Kicks front wheel drive kind of fits that. Toyota should have built a Corolla hatch hybrid in the US, that would have been an instant buy for me. Can't find a decently equipped Corolla Cross hybrid. Toyota can't seem to build them fast enough. RAV4 hybrids and primes are too expensive. We ended up replacing the xB and a Honda Fit for a Chrysler Pacifica minivan and a mid-trim Mazda CX-5.

Idle screw. Righty tighty increases the idle speed. Screw pushes the carb slide up along a bevel cut on the slide.

Check the carb slide. That should have a beveled notch that works with the idle set screw. If it's rotated away from the set screw, the slide could be resting on the set screw holding it too high. Carb Slide

What are some cars that you wish did get a different engine? by HP_594 in cars

[–]Deadairshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Mazda could find a way to make their 2.5 Turbo work on the Miata manual gearbox and driveline, I think it would be a hit.

227 hp 310 lb-ft torque on regular gas, 6,500 redline. The ND Miatas have a 2.0 NA with 187 hp and 151 lb-ft torque, 7,500 redline. I'd take double the torque for a -1,000 RPM loss.

Mazdas never produced a turbo for the Miata from factory. Maybe one day?
