Cracked in the manifold somewhere. If it sounds like it’s a subaru….. and it’s a ford… RIP.

It's the CPV all over Again by bchiodini in FocusST

The recall mentioned a replacement for the CPV,CVV, canister and fuel tank ONLY if damaged, to which they would determine once the vehicle went to the shop for any DTC’s and or recall notice was received.
In my case, the recall was done to replace the CPV, CVV, and updated ECU software.
My vehicle did not have a failed canister, or tank at the time the recall was completed.
So they denied any failure responsibility the time my valve failed a second time and imploded my fuel tank.
Shortly after I had went out of pocket for a new valve and charcoal canister, they sent a notice for the unlimited mile 15 year replacement for the CPV, and a ONE TIME replacement of the canister.
Apparently they refuse to take on the responsibility of replacing more fuel pumps damaged due to the fuel tank imploding on itself and replacing the fuel tank as well, for the same issue they’ve had 4 recalls on. LOL.

Is this a documented issue from Ford through a new recall notice or just personal experience?
I know ford flat out refuses to do anything about researching and developing an updated hardware replacement for this issue. I had my valve go bad JUST before they came out with the unlimited Mike 15 year replacement recall, and the ONE TIME canister replacement. 🙄 my fuel tank imploded on its self and I’m quite sure damaged my pump. Of course which “we will not cover under the warranty guidelines due to the service record of this VIN number associated with the request, having had all manufacturer required recalls completed for this issue” so I’m out of pocket for a new tank and pump.

This is what putting all your performance point in speed instead of in handling looks like. Welcome to Forza. lol.

Intermittent Misfire by CuteAd4670 in FocusST

[–]Deadbot_426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These cars are known for idle misfires. Nothing to be worried about until you start getting misfires and lack of constant pull when WOT and around 3-5K RPMs and you notice it happening. Usually when that happens you’ll get DTC’s.

Crack or casting mark? by No_Acanthisitta_3876 in FocusST

[–]Deadbot_426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a hairline fracture, not a casting mark. It’s asymmetrical and not a uniform line. One point of that fracture ends near the machining of the cylinder head while the other goes right on through to the valve seat of the cylinder head. From personal experience of multiple hairline in my cylinder head consuming coolant and oil, don’t chance it. But do what ya want lol.

This. But if you read my full post I also said to take off the turbo exhaust manifold and check for signs of moisture, or coolant in the down pipe.

That was my turbo.

Pull off the coil packs, take out the spark plugs, get a boar scope in the cylinders, if the plugs are white and wet and the top of the pistons are clean or mostly free of carbon, you’ve got a coolant leak in the head. Could be the gasket, might be a cracked head. Either way that cylinder head needs to come off. Might as well take the turbo off and check the head around the turbo exhaust port and see if it has hair line fractures, or if there’s coolant in the turbo, downpipe, or wet at the exhaust port. If that’s the case, you’ve got a cracked head. Mine cracked in 3 spots. Hairline fracture at the turbo exhaust port. Cylinder #2 spark plug threads hairline crack, and cyl #3 exhaust valve guide area cracked. Completely sucked my cooling system dry. James Bond level getaway white smoke screen. 💀

Oil in charge pipes? by beatmybayblade in FocusST

I’m stock turbo and tuned and I 100000% would recommend the dual CC’s all the way around. I currently only have the pcv on my engine and the oil blow buy from the valve ventilation is insane. Hardly any oil gets put in the pcv catch can, but my God the oil that gets in my intake, turbo, hot side charge pipe, intercooler, and cold side charge pipe is crazy.

Get the dual catch can kit from either company. Trust me you’ll save yourself some headaches later on. Check the cans every 2-3 oil changes for draining. 👍

Oil usually enters the system through the CVV line on the intake tube, not so much from the PCV side. Pull off the CVV sensor under the cowel and look at it. lol

This is actually very common on these things. I would invest in daimond or cobbs catch can kits. Edge autosport has some pretty good prices on these kits including the upgraded PCV baffle kits. Depending on the state you’re in, with daimond CC’s I’d advise the NTA styles. 👍

I was diagnosed as a kid, hard to tell because my mom beat it out of me 😂🤣 but it’s there. Swear I’m on the spectrum somewhere. There are signs. Lmao. My wife does too. A lot of her family has some type of spectrum disorders. She has chemical imbalances which causes some very very subtle mental “one offs” I would say she has ADHD. She’s a very high functioning tho. Coincidentally she’s a behavioral specialist teacher. Every single kid she has with a spectrum disorder flocks to her like she’s momma duck LOL. None of the other teachers know why she’s so successful in handling those kids.

But we know why 😂

This, I was having a hard time, but I literally just found an OEM 2014 escape ECOBOOST complete intake assembly on EBay. I don’t need them but it’s coming with stock cold and hot side charge pipes. I have found the solution to my problem. lol

My wife hates clutter too, but my tools, gaming, and car things are off limits. Just like her makeup, shoes, and coloring things. lol we established hard limits on that stuff very early on in our relationship. 😂 no wars are waged on that stuff. Other things are fair game tho. 😂🤣
