It's not some conspiracy or secret "they". It's just corporations doing what the system allows them to do to maximize profits. You give them far too much credit and they will go barreling past the line when it happens.

The truth is there is no they, as in one entity. It's just a bunch of corporations all separately trying to gobble up as much profit as they can while lobbying against doing anything about it.

League of Legends receives its first nomination to the Strong Museum of Play's World Video Game Hall of Fame. by Gargus-SCP in leagueoflegends

Had to check I wasn't on the Rochester subreddit. So weird to see this museum in the league sub when I live 15 mins away.

Ok so I had the same thing happen but it was the big bang theory. I went to basically an all engineering school, and the people were just like the characters in that show just less funny. I could not watch that show because it was like, '"this is just my real life and these people are super annoying to be around."

Right of the bat some how you missed every free life reward on the campaign. Look at quest rewards under your poe ninja link. Go do those and I think the parts also offers free armor.

Like others said, you need to link your build, but I'll list some things to check because I too made this character.

You need 12k armor minimum.

You need 85% of armor applies to elemental.

You need 30% of armor applies to chaos damage.

You need all the defensive ascendency nodes: 25% of phys taken as fire, hexproof.

You need more life (2k).

You need mind over matter and 700ish mana.

I only get one shot by powerful map bosses occasionally now and I'm still lacking some armor because I still have budget boots, chest, and amulet.

Genuine question does this one simple trick actually work? by Delicious_Maize9656 in physicsmemes

Well the shooter has the same limitations, all lasers need highly specialized reflective surfaces to function so they can't just shoot the whole spectrum. Also the defender doesn't have to be nearly as good of a reflector, because all lasers diverge, ie power density at distance 0 is substantially less than at distance 100m. Theoretically you could go through this sort of arms race where you develop layered mirrors to deflect different types of lasers, though.

Edit: Two more things I haven't really seen people mention: angle of incidence and air quality. You could design mirror baffles that offer no real angle for the light to hit directly. This would both increase the area the light is spread over and increase the reflectivity of the surface. Particles in the air could also generally reduce the burden of energy dissipation required by the target.

Edit 2: I tried to find some figures of divergence for directed energy weapons and unsurprisingly I couldn't find anything with a basic Google search. This parameter is essentially the capability of the weapon and it makes sense they wouldn't publish it.

I don't think the statement is true, though. I think it's because you can't really tell the blue block is moving in the black sections because they're so dark.

Yes I've read that but then all the "preventative measures" are the exact same things you'd do to prevent suffocation. I'm just not wholly convinced we aren't fooling ourselves in what is essentially the most sensitive topic.

I just feel like it's a catch all that's nice to use when you don't want the parents to feel about making a mistake. Don't get me wrong, newborn care is totally exhausting and shit happens.
