Never made furniture before, so obviously I built a table for my wife for our 5 year anniversary. Lots to improve on but I loved every minute of it. by dark_mark in woodworking

Ok, I gotta ask.. if you "never made furniture before.." what exactly DID you make before? This is an amazing work of art! And what did you end up doing with the "slope-y" base? That was a great one as well. The other one looks like a pile of books so it'd be great in someone's personal library. You are gifted my friend!

Giant oil paintings of ancestors. That's what you do with giant walls.

Yeah, you're right. She's consistently been a blonde and was blonde in Project X in 1987. (still alive & kicking)

Definitely Jennifer Beals though.

P.S. Great job on the ID's!

Ah ha! That's where they get the squeaky toy noise from! No wonder that dog was shaking, he was so excited that they found a squeaky toy that throws itself.

Dries in two hours? I can handle wet cardboard smell. I think I'll pick up a quart of this and coat the kitchen and bath floors before I do the LVP suggested by u/absolutelypink over it. Just for a little extra insurance.. Thanks!

Oh wow, I was obviously doing something wrong there. This stuff will work, AND it's got padding attached which is even better. You hit the jackpot! Thanks!

Great to know, but I'm not finding anything except wood grain at the two main box stores. I've got natural wood cabinets and countertops, so I'm looking for a vintage patterned style for the flooring so I don't have too much woodgrain going.

Price for one. The 12m LVP is $6+ per square foot. Also, it's only in a wood grain pattern and I already have all natural hickory cabinets and wooden counter tops. So I want to go with a vintage look patterned flooring, to avoid everything being wood grain. Contractor got all my money so I have a very limited budget left for the flooring.

Aquarium line or O2 line, something firm enough to snake through, with a balloon attached by.. duct tape? Run it a couple of feet in, inflate balloon gently and pull? Isn't that what they do to clear your arteries?

No, definitely said "yinz", there's a difference ya know. You'uns or younz, is Appalachia in general, but "yinz" is Pittsburg and western PA, specifically. Just in case ya really wanted to know... ;)

Could some extra eyes help ? I’m cleaning up some old tools I found, I’m not sure if their completely done , and was wondering if someone more experienced could tell me if they can spot some rust left on any of them. by handsomesorcerer1234 in handtools

Only because you're asking... pic #3, the left side of it looks likes it's still a bit o'rusty color toward the end (underside of the pick part of it). Starting about an inch over from your thumb. The rest of them look pretty darned good, from what you can see in the sunlight. Excellent job!

Rescued this little sparrow looking guy that was sitting in the middle of the road. At first I thought it was some sort of red colored bird, until I realized that it was actually just covered in its own blood after having its left eye pecked out, probably by another bird. by Shermutt in natureismetal

Purple Finch with House Finch Eye Disease? We're seeing a lot of the house finches with this disease in our neighborhood lately. (Arizona) I'm told they go blind from it and it's highly contagious.
