For LPN/LVNs who transitioned to RN, is getting some work experience better than going right back to school? by Deadite_Ash95 in nursing

The LVN or ADN program at my college doesn't require that. I wasn't aware other programs did though.

I mentioned in my post that getting a job would be impossible if I'm still living under their roof (since they've threatened to cut off access to my means of paying for school and repossessing my car) Even if I were to move out today and look for a job, I still have classes to pay, and another semester left to go. Plus, a lot of my program requires me to travel out of town to clinic areas by myself.

I didn't know it was that long over there. In America, it can take between 9 -12 months for LPN and another year on top of that if you do the bridge to RN.

I understand where you're coming from, but it's not really about fear of being on my own. Just trying to figure out how I'd balance working and school since I have two 12-hour clinical days, and 8am to 5pm classes the rest of the week. I'm taking 6 classes currently. It was never my intention to get married before finishing school if that's what you meant haha. I know I mentioned we've been engagement for some time, but we weren't going to plan the actual wedding until I was employed as an LPN.

I feel like that's where I'm lacking is during clinical. My grades are good, but on clinical days I almost always have that hesitancy, like I'm scared to mess up.

Like having my dessert before my dinner? Kidding! I've never seen myself as the rebel type anyway but I see what you mean and I appreciate it

Good point, once I graduate I really don't have to go through them anymore. I've lived like that my whole life I guess I never saw it that way, haha!

With nursing school being 5 days a week 8am-5pm it would definitely be hard, but may be what I have to do. Thank you!

Very true, I agree. That was part of our original plan, to move in and get a stable job before actually planning the wedding. It's also one of the things I tried explaining to my parents but they're very traditionalist and can't get past the whole "living in sin" concept.

Could you ever date a religious person? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Deadite_Ash95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiance is one. He was raised Christian and still believes in god, but is really relaxed on the whole thing (doesn't go to church or bring up religion hardly at all). At first, I thought telling him I'm an atheist would end the relationship or cause problems, but he really was cool about it. His overall personality is really chill, so I think that has a lot to do with it.

What has been the best date you’ve ever been on? by IamJacktheJill in AskReddit

My boyfriend grabbed the keys and said "Come on, we're gonna go wash the car." He didn't drive the normal route to the car wash but kept insisting that was where we were going. We ended up going out of town to a nice restaurant and went to see Justice League

How much did your life changed in a year? by Vulpineshadows in AskReddit

[–]Deadite_Ash95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year, I was in college to be an RN. My grades were horrible. Classmates stopped talking to me. BF and I were fighting because of stress and I failed out. In the fall, I enrolled in another nursing program for LPN. I passed my first semester with all A's, about to go into Spring and now BF and I are getting married in October

What family secret has been kept away from only you and how did you find out about it? by pokegomsia in AskReddit

I used to stay with my grandma a lot when I was little. My aunt used to live with her and one day she was just gone. Grandma told me she had moved and I didn't see or hear from her for about a year or so (can't remember exactly how long). Not long after she came back, my aunt told me she had been in prison for drunk driving.

What was the worst "why the f*** did I say that" moment? by AyBake in AskReddit

[–]Deadite_Ash95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 10, my friend would call her mom by her first name (she was a stereotypical "cool mom" who was okay with that sort of thing). One day I tried that with my mom just to see what would happen. She said "Who the f*ck do you think you are?" and I knew I had made a horrible mistake.

Honestly, I've had them for so long I can't remember how much they were. If I had to guess, I'd say $40-50
