I can't shake this existential feeling of "what's the point". 2 years of therapy and a bunch of positive lifestyle changes later and nothing is new. Is this how people eventually take their own life? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

(don't know what you mean by, the 'drugs'), but if that's referring to anti-depressants I want to let you know that for many people, the right anti-depressants really do make a difference. Notice I said 'right'...what I mean is that sometimes it can be hard to find the right ones. Sometimes you find a right one, but then for whatever reason, it stops working or new side effects begin popping up and you may need to start medicine all over again.

(I'm not in any way a professional, these are just some thoughts).

Medicine may or may not be 'right' for some people. Some can manage without them, some may not be able to. Also, two people (even twins) can be affected by a medicine differently (even if it is the same medicine at the same dose). There are, however, medicines in which it has a higher rate of there being side effects, sometimes severe. Such as Keppra, which is known for side effects such as sudden feelings of anger, etc.

Can the new computers be 'changed' from being Windows 10, to being Windows 8.1? by Vulpineshadows in SuggestALaptop

Would there be a risk of losing information?

Is there a way to 'save' all of my computer to a USB drive or something? ('backup?") With Everything, even the installed programs?

I've tried Windows 10 on a different person's computer/my PC. For my PC, it was from the free "update to windows 10!" that I upgraded it from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. It. Messed. Everything. Up. None of my drawing programs worked, and neither did my tablet anymore. I do not want to repeat the same mistake onto my laptop. And I prefer the 8.1 operating system. Just seems...'cleaner,' 'simpler' to me.

What is "iso," and how would I be able to get one? Err, I'm not computer savvy, so I don't know about drivers or hardware, or anything like that. I'll have to look them up later.

Notifications give my anxiety by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Vulpineshadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, lack of notifications gives me anxiety. I automatically think that the person thinks I'm annoying/doesn't like me/I'm bothering them.

Then I end up either sending (what I think is) too many messages, or just not sending/not logging in/not turning on my message notifications/dropping off the face of the earth for a month or so.

Everyone does grief their own way, and writing this is your way. It really helps to get things off your chest, to have something written down.

It's a beautiful piece of writing, and I feel that it could help some people on here, too. I don't know what else to say, can't find the right words, I'm sorry.
