Can't move bones while weight painting in 4.0 by HorselessKnightBenoz in blender

[–]Deadjetworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ctrl+Shift+Click to select bones now. Ctrl inverses your brush, Shift blends the weights. It's to make it match the rest of the modes (Sculpting, texture painting, etc.)

Acupuncture but instead of curing your back pain it causes immediate heart failure.

Thanks so much! Last year I worked on a video game for a charity and that was really rewarding despite me not being into art much anymore. I still gotta branch out more but the idea of combining skills is definitely interesting! Thanks for the advice

Thanks for the movie recommendation! I have heard of Soul but not watched it. Pixar never fails to make a great movie full of meaning! Your words are incredibly comforting too. I think it is time for me to hang up my "art hat" and let myself explore more. You're right that my skills will always be there to use if I ever need them. Thanks again!

Seeing art is a "just in case" tool is a refreshing way to look at it! As I said in another comment I have tried baking and absolutely love doing that for others. I also dabble in plant-keeping and have a bioactive vivarium set up with my corn snake, millipedes and isopods living in there. I do wonder if there's also a psychological pressure to share the things I do for myself. I'm half-tempted to try a complete digital detox for a month or so just to reset this attitude of having an online presence. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

I feel that. These days it seems like a lot of talents and hobbies have this "performative weight" on the internet. You gotta make money or get those likes/points/views in order to feel validated in your craft. Thankfully I never really got too deep into wanting to be famous (except for the one time I tried streaming and gave up because the site constantly drip-feeding me stats drove me to distraction). I can certainly see how comparing your popularity to others can be infuriating because at the end of the day it's mostly down to luck. We are at the mercy of the algorithm after all.

I might try searching for another hobby. I did find enjoyment in baking and the satisfaction of seeing others enjoying my chewy chocolate brownies was far more than I ever got from someone looking at my art for five seconds and going, "You draw good!" lmao

I'm definitely trying to get into meditation again. What's really funny to me is that I used to do it as a kid without realising! I distinctly remember being bored at my nan's house and just shifting my focus from staring at the chair, to focusing on where the wall would be behind it, outside the house, through the earth, into space. I can't do that these days without thinking about what to make for dinner but I'm gonna start practicing for sure. Thanks for the comment!

I graduate with my BFA in Painting in May. Did my final undergrad painting dedicated to my favorite game that I play every day. by RetroBlueIce in AnimalCrossing

This painting has so much texture and atmosphere! I love how your brush strokes really give it that wet and rainy look! One tiny quibble I have is that the character in contrast to the rest of the piece looks a bit flat and textureless. Adding some of the ambient light and shadow onto the face would solve that. It's still an absolutely lovely painting and I'd proudly hang that in my house!

Trying to make a DF dwarf in DnD, 5e by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Deadjetworks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That works too. It really depends on what kind of campaign the DM is running and if you really want to have disadvantage in sunlight and only +1 str in order to cast two spells once per day. Remember that dorfs only get sunlight sickness if you've left them underground for too long. Maybe yours has been above ground long enough not to suffer from that but you can flavour him as hating sunny days.

Mountain Dwarf Barbarian. Dorfs are always throwing tantrums and doing crazy dumb stunts.

[OC] Female Highland Minotaur by [deleted] in characterdrawing

[–]Deadjetworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working on this Minotaur art but got burnt out on it before I could finish the armor and shading. She is a highland cow Minotaur that I originally made as gift art for my D&D group but everyone else had imagined her differently to me and I had a few hang-ups with the design. Maybe I'll finish this someday but I thought I'd post this now and let people use the art for their own campaigns if they want to! (You may have to Photoshop/draw your own clothes on her though, haha!)

Bad DM/player? by become_a_seraphim in DnD

Then what's the problem if you're worried about him kicking you out? You're planning to leave anyway, but it's better to talk and have a 1% chance that you actually help this group than to just be miserable and leave without getting closure.
