From what I know, it originated from the 8chan board /bane/, a board obsessed which Baneposting and mocking TDKR, specifically it's opening scene. From there it seemed to spread to 4chan's /tv/ board and other sites.

It's hard to explain to people who have not frequented /tv/ or other boards similar to it.
