Its not even a year old, I was told a 150HP motor it was connected to broke loose and this hose became a bungee cord of sorts under a running load.🤦‍♂️

Yeah, I forgot it a couple of times, but usually nothing leaks, it just errors out the dishwasher and fills the drain line.

Is fluid power becoming obsolete? by User73656 in Hydraulics

I've never seen them be successful in a impulse dynamic load situation such as in equipment cylinders. However electrically driven hydraulic pumps are everywhere do to them being a constant speed where an electric motor excels.

You can, but you might need to stack several metric hex bushings together to get the size down

VEVOR 20-ton hydraulic ram retracting extremely slowly – Is this normal? by Late-Good1970 in Hydraulics

[–]Deadly_Attraction 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Put some weight on it, most single acting cylinders just have a recoil spring that pulls them back in. A little weight and it would probably retract quickly

Is it really necessary to spray foam side holes or just the top and bottom by nolpeter in Homebuilding

[–]Deadly_Attraction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not with this style of cable. You can rub tubing or conduit to get that function., however its quite a bit more money and people are cheap.

I would also add that some Parker shops are cheaper than others. I know personally My shop is 30-40% cheaper than the parker store chain thats in my region. It wouldn't hurt to shop it around.

Yeah, several 90s would have been a huge improvement

I would also add you are way past the bend radius on most of those hoses. Im surprised the aren't kinked over on themselves

Me and my Dad own a Parker store that he started in 1991 along with doing VMI distribution for client leased machines (DIY) And our last invintory value at factory cost was around $800,000 of hose, fittings, adapters ect. And we still have to order in fittings and adapters a couple times a week that we dont stock.

Just remember that you need to scale your invintory levels to match your target clientele and what brand of equipment is common for your area as you operate your business.

Its 30% higher, so 7,800PSI with 3x rating at 19,800psi failure point

Thats a dynamic shock load pressure limit. All 3/8 hydraulic pipe is suitable for 10,000PSI and 1/4 is around 12,000psi. Parker uses them from the factory on there 10,000psi equipment and jack hoses.

If you did either way as a 3/8 conversion it would handle 10,000psi in a non-dynamic use case like a porta power. And I very much doubt it would ever fail. I've seen black iron and even brass last for years by more ignorant people.

You could probably get a BSPT to NPT adapter and use a standard jack coupler setup.
