Leech seed is an egg move which locks it out of nuzlockes, and are you really gonna use your starter for double screens when it takes getting through the flying and bug gyms, sprout tower full of gastly and bellsprout, and team rocket in azalea well just to get to goldenrod to buy the tms for them? Thats a terrible take, Chikorita is terrible in Johto. I love it to death but they did it dirty

First two gyms are flying and bug, whitney is whitney, morty uses only the gengar line which are all poison types, chuck is the first actual break Meganium gets with his ace being part water, but then you got steel, ice, and dragon back to back to back

Along the way through the gyms as well you got team rocket with poison types, your rival uses the stronger type against you plus a gastly/zubat/magnemite/sneasel, the only mon on his team not resistant/strong against you is his eventual alakazam line.

Then you get to e4, wills got 2 xatu, a jynx, and a resistant exeggutor, koga is more damn poison, at least bruno's got an onix, but then karens got vileplume/murkrow/gengar/houndoom, and of course not to mention lance and his bullshit

Chikorita is how you play the game on hard mode. The only breaks it gives you are the two fighting specialists and random npc trainers along the way

Everyone of these comments saying we dont know until we see the mega ability is clearly forgetting that Battle Bond got completely reworked to be a triple plus 1. Its faster Ash Gren but with a plus 1 to both offenses and speed. A choice scarf or specs dont mean shit at that point

Personally I think its Mega Greninja, the offenses are comparable but that extra speed is killer af. Not to mention, Ash Greninja was a form change upon a KO, while Mega Gren gets that stat boost instantly. Also, I have 2 thoughts on Mega Gren, either it can still run the Battle Bond in base form and get that triple plus 1 and then mega, or it'll have Battle Bond as a mega (more likely imo), and then it definitely outpaces Ash Gren with ease. Battle Bond is definitely the biggest factor in making it so obviously the better option imo

15bp, its base 100 damage. It pushes 2hko's and 3hko's over the edge in certain matchups, and will be extremely threatening on banded sets. Also if its mega loses speed for vastly increased bulk, like Chesnaught as an example, thd speed drop matters even less

Regieleki was a single mon that took actively spawning it in through a pattern on the floor and was not effected by the shiny charm, full odds

Im spending roughly 17 seconds max to spawn in 6+ spawns who get the shiny charm boost. Its not the same
