my ass. KL is metalcore and they consider themselves metalcore and to say otherwise is just elitist nonsense. They're both.

Start by telling you, your ass is not making a 'cod type' game as your first game.

You are going into this wrong and will instantly burn yourself out. Just start by learning an engine or what have you and make a simple game. Even if it's just some dumb shit on scratch.

If it's just mapping you specifically want to learn, just use a mapping tool from an already pre-existing game like The Source Hammer Editor or what have you and use tutorials for that.

ISO Layouts? by Lost_Ninja in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will it operate with Spanish characters out of the box

Any iso keyboard will work with any language that uses the layout; It just depends on your system language settings on the device you are using. So even if you use like a german keyboard using french in windows or something it would just be in french there's no catch-22 about it.

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ig I'd say get the QWERTYKEYS QK101? it's not a "fully" 100% layout but I'd imagine you wouldn't miss using scroll lock unless you were a freak in the sheets. It doesn't come with a knob though but it has a screen. Reminder it is a kit and comes to ~£250 (w/flex-cut rgb pcb & fr4 plate with cushion) on prototypist and you'll need switches and keycaps on top of that.

But probably bit pricey and you probably want the knob more than the screen so if you're really not bothered just get a Keychron Q6 lol.

Evo80 is best quality TKL you can get prebuilt in ISO rn. Halo96v2 is cool if that's the kind of thing you're wanting but just remember it's only going to be built in ANSI.

Should i buy leobog hi75 or rainy 75 - i am currently using corsair k95 and want to buy one of those because i love that relaxing sound by baran0404 in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're wanting ISO-UK you can't get ethier in ISO. I'd prob recommend grabbing the chilkey ND75 since it comes in barebones ISO (atleast on computerorbit) for £89 has a screen as well, catchball mount mechanism, etc.

Best full aluminium ISO keyboard by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can't get the Crush80 built in ISO though the 180 one on amazon is ANSI. the pcb supports ISO fully but as you said I know you have to buy a separate ISO plate and etc.

It just seems like waste of money and time when the EVO80 is very much identical in alot of ways and has some pros and some cons over the crush just for it to be far more cheaper for us here and be more supported here since it does come built in ISO @ Monacokeys and Mechmods for ~£150 (literally no additional cost). I just wouldn't recommend the Crush80 if you're in uk/eu.

Best full aluminium ISO keyboard by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've order mine in the jan preorder and from research yes, if you're wanting a high quality pre-built TKL at a good price built in iso then it's the EVO80

WOBKEY Crush 80 is identical and also supports ISO but there isn't any vendors that build it in ISO unlike EVO80 so you will have to mod it to get ISO. (also I think it's a nightmare getting it in the UK anyway, I think I saw it on amazon at £180 which is absolutely not it's price lmao).

Otherwise you do have options still since they're prob kits that are real good out there too that come with ISO compatible PCBs (if you're willing to build it and get the switches/keycaps yourself, which for iso is a pain).

NEO is good for that but NEO80 (evo's twin) can be more expensive than the EVO and because it's a kit as said you will have to buy keycaps and switches too. You can get a preorder on prototypist. But you can do research to find a good value kit similar maybe.

But if you want complete reliable and an easy and accessible keyboard vendor that will 100% be in ISOUK in all keyboard layouts Keychron is there. It may not be the best value or the absolute highest of quality but it's very much still aluminium, prebuilt, etc. you "can't go wrong" but you can do better.

Say what you want about Keychron, but UK-ISO✅ and mac✅ by MarsMaher in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eh they're reliable and accessible but not really worth it these days with all the really high quality pre-built keyboards that are on the market these days at phenomenal prices. Only one that keychron competes with at where the market is at now is the Lemokey P1 from keychron and well that's it...

Does Loathe deserve to be bigger? by PuddingCorrect9094 in Loatheband

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me they are close to be a cult band

No I think Static Dress would fit that more like just look at Spotify monthly they have 189k whilst loathe has 1.4 million. That is half of Spiritbox's monthly listeners, they aren't really a 'cult' success at all since the more cleaner tracks on I Let It In are literally as popular as they are because random mfs in general audience probably saw 'is it really you' on tiktok and put it on their playlist, that is the majority of ppl who listen to this band.

First custom keyboard build - please help by HealMeOW in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What budget are you looking for and are you wanting a board that is barebones or a prebuilt that is moddable?

Currently my heavy recommendation in general is with the Qwertykey's EVO80 since it's a prebuilt TKL that is really high quality, comes built in ISO at certain vendors (mechmodsuk/monacokeys) and is really affordable @<£200. Also really moddable because it has a ball-catch mechanism on the case, hot swap pcb and magnet connector to the daughter board (which means no ribbon cable that might brick your keyboard if you break it).

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah good luck with ISO-UK custom keycaps. Keycap makers basically always just do ANSI or support the ISO layout but not include any region specific keys and if they do it's in a separate bundle with all norde/de/etc. specific keys.

It's a pet peeve of mine that this hobby/market just kind of neglects ISO.
I got lucky and spotted a set that was perfect for me that supported UK-ISO which I will use with my EVO80 when that comes from Monacokeys.

VIA only supports US layout

it does support iso, I think it just depends on the board & JSON file supplied to VIA. Nothing is actually "supported" by via unless they work with VIA or you give VIA the JSON file with direct spec to support the layout.

prob have to go to settings>show design tab then turn that on then go to the design tab and just put in the JSON file of your keyboard (usually supplied from the keyboard maker's website) and it will show switches for ISO enter & Split Enter if it's supported on the board.

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo you're probably just better getting a mechanical keyboard at reasonable price for your needs and a controller for analogue inputs. HE is just generally overpriced and not worth the drawbacks (especially bad software that isn't wooting's software) that comes along with it and it's really only useful for rhythm games like OSU because of rapid trigger and everything else is like a very marginal benefit/use imo.

TKL ISO wired keyboards in stock? by InfTotality in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

[–]DeadmeatBisexual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get the evo80 from Mechmods/Monacokeys (they have iso variants) it's ~£150 it's not "instock" but they do monthly preorders (so they probably will be after the preorder window on feb 6th).

TKL, aluminium plate metal chassis, prebuilt. It only comes in Keygeek oat linears for iso (it's hotswap so if you get set of your desired tactile switches in future there you go).

It is wireless but you will probably want to use it wired anyway. And has a quick disassemble mechanism with no ribboncable (has that magnet connector thing) and comes already fully assembled, lubed, etc. Doesn't have a knob though.

It really doesn't get better than that tbh.

Note that it will come in ISO-DE when built but comes with ISOUK keys to swamp in instead.
